Updated 24th July 2015. We have recently received an email from Paul Brooker with some photographs. Paul's father, Fredric, was an Air Wireless Mechanic at Burtonwood in 1953/54. Fredric was only in the RAF for one year before going to RAF Sealand as a civilian. I wonder if anyone remembers Fredric? Take a look at the photographs, there could be someone you recognise. I lived within a mile of the Burtonwoodbase and in fact now live within a of a mile of the southern perimeter, as was. Nothing of any real measure has been saved about the once great heritage that was Burtonwood base, the greedy developers only wanted it’s airfields to make money , the local authorities were happy to take it’s cut! It lived on only in cyberspace, yet even that was to be bulldozed!
