Thursday, April 23, 2015. Late Winter Part 3: The sheep bag. You know I love my sheep. As wool is my muse, sheep are my special patron saints of sorts. When I saw this fabric by Ellen Luckett Baker for Kokka (see her great blog here. I knew I had to find a project to use it. I purchased my yardage on Etsy and bought some of the mustard sheep plus some of the charcoal and mustard scallop coordinating trim fabric. This bag is the happy result. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. RagingWool: February 2014

http://ragingwool.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 25, 2014. First of all, I apologize for some of these pictures. It is actually too cold here in Ohio to take pictures outside. February 25. It's about 15 degrees. Fine when you're bundled up and taking the dogs. Not so fine for photography. Here is my most recent creation:. Now THIS is more my style. Elements:. Pom poms in 2 sizes. Posy" flowers made from wide ribbing folded in half, rolled and sewn, and cut into ribbons. Spiky flowers made from ribbing rolled and cut. This wreath has e...

RagingWool: January projects

http://ragingwool.blogspot.com/2015/01/january-projects.html

Monday, January 5, 2015. I grew up in Southern California and there really wasn't any time of year when you couldn't be outside. Living here in northeastern Ohio, there are days in January and February (and last November! When it is simply too cold to do much outside except bundle up and walk the dogs as quickly as you can. Lucky for me I have lots of indoor hobbies. Here are a few of the projects I currently have going. I love it and it matches about 85% of my wardrobe, no joke. So, I finally came up wi...

RagingWool: December 2014

http://ragingwool.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 14, 2014. Holiday decor tour, continued. As I said, I'm a sucker for white and metallic. I've talked about this mantle before. Here. Here's a little vignette I have on a side table. The feather tree in the background is wool. I saw this on Pinterest last year and knew that I had to make a wool feather tree. My house was built in 1836 so early American touches just fit. But, a feather tree of wool? These two mantles are the mainstay of my holiday decor. I've got little handmade touche...

RagingWool: November 2014

http://ragingwool.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 30, 2014. Sewing group project - Holiday! An occupational hazard of using wool as your medium, I guess. Her house is full of eye candy. Mini collections of embroidery thread and religious icons; small framed bits of art from friends, textile fabulousness. On to the bottom row! Pretty great stuff from someone that doesn't even celebrate Christmas. How perfect for me! Seriously fun and fantastic. I put this piece at the lower right so it would lead the eye off the work. The holly leaves ar...

RagingWool: January 2015

http://ragingwool.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 12, 2015. I've been knitting for 30 years and have never tired of it. I love the rhythm and the pace. One time I tried out a knitting machine and HATED it. Production is not the goal. Brooklyn Tweed is American wool start to finish. The colors are vivid yet neutral and the flecks in the tweed make for a garment with depth of texture. Sure winner - and I'm addicted. Thursday, January 8, 2015. Follow me on Bloglovin! Follow my blog with Bloglovin. Monday, January 5, 2015. The next couple of...

The Wigglebottom Farmhouse: November 2011

http://wigglebottomfarmhouse.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Friday, November 11, 2011. First Snow - 11-11-11. We woke this morning to a blanket of snow. I was so excited to see that white stuff! Now that most of the leaves have fallen in NE Ohio, the scenery was looking a little bland. This morning's dusting was a welcome change. I look forward to fires in the fireplace, wool sweaters, mittens and hot chocolate. I filled up the bird feeders last week and the birdies have rediscovered them. They are so fun to watch! Thursday, November 3, 2011. Sothis week I am wor...

The Wigglebottom Farmhouse: October 2011

http://wigglebottomfarmhouse.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Sunday, October 30, 2011. Things that make me MELT! Behold the delectable Westside Monte Cristo at Melt. Bar and Grilled in Independence, OH. It is the mecca for decadent grilled cheese sandwiches. This ooey gooey tower of deliciousness was my birthday treat. Of course, my eyes were larger than my stomach and I barely ate half of it. The rest is chilling in the fridge waiting for lunch. Here I am attempting the first bite! I just love his smooshy face. Thursday, October 27, 2011. Wellnot the border.).

The Lavendar Tree: In Love

http://thelavendartree.blogspot.com/2013/01/in-love.html

Saturday, January 19, 2013. I am in love with a new blog called Heather Spriggs. I can't believe I've never found it before but am so glad I finally did. It is such a wonderful mix of loveliness and creativity that I can hardly stand it. You know.when you get so excited about something that you can hardly stand to look at it. Your insides start to churn and your mind starts to whirl. In a good way. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A bit about me. St Croix Falls, WI, United States. Well, let me explain.

The Wigglebottom Farmhouse: Christmas Decorating

http://wigglebottomfarmhouse.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-decorating.html

Sunday, December 11, 2011. Now that pneumonia and a trip to Disney have past, I finally got to decorating for Christmas this weekend. My mom bought this fellow for me a couple of years ago at Ohio Mart at Stan Hywet in Akron. I actually have several of this artist's gourds and I love them all. This guy is on my dining room hutch. Here is another one that sits on my keeping room mantle. I did not notice until I had it for a year and was too lazy to exchange it. This is a Pere Noel made by local artist Bri...

The Wigglebottom Farmhouse: April 2011

http://wigglebottomfarmhouse.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. The first true sign of Spring in Northeast Ohio is the mud. Here is Pumpkin after a few minutes outside this morning. I do not have the same issue with Cutter because he hates to get his paws wet. He actually resorted to pooping on the driveway the other day rather than step in puddles. Thanks, buddy. I loathe the thaw and muddy paw prints all over my house, but when the daffodils bloom, my mood brightens. Have a great day! Friday, April 22, 2011. More Ohio Rug Camp. The rest of...

The Wigglebottom Farmhouse: Brave Hunter- DONE! (Well...not the border...)

http://wigglebottomfarmhouse.blogspot.com/2011/10/brave-hunter-done-wellnot-border.html

Thursday, October 27, 2011. Wellnot the border.). I am finished, sort of. I am going to do a two row border of the "Moose" wool and then whip it with yarn. The colors are more muted in real life and I am pretty happy with it. This is the coverlet I purchased last week - a little gift to me from me. I seem to be obsessed with textiles lately. This is my fourth coverlet this year. October 28, 2011 at 10:38 AM. Beautiful hooking, Liz. Love the coverlet. I like getting gifts from myself, as well :).

The Lavendar Tree: Homemade Hot Chocolate

http://thelavendartree.blogspot.com/2012/12/homemade-hot-chocolate.html

Sunday, December 16, 2012. I just finished putting together gift jars of homemade hot chocolate mix. I found the recipe here. I LOVE it - it's such a yummy mix - and mixes up so smoothly. After making the mix, I packaged it in clean (new) canning jars, wrapped with string, added a little bag of mini marshmallows, and wrote on a small tag so the recipients would know how much mix to use for that perfect cup of chocolaty warmth! The Lavendar Tree: A Savings Plan

http://thelavendartree.blogspot.com/2013/01/a-savings-plan.html

Wednesday, January 9, 2013. I've been out of commission again for awhile - I came down with the nasty flu bug that is running rampant here in the midwest. I still am not up to my normal self - but I'm feeling much better than I was a week ago. I ran across this on Facebook the other day. Wish a new year upon us, it seemed like a pretty cool and somewhat do-able way to save a few dollars over the course of a year. I might just give it a try! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Lavendar Tree: Taking a Step

http://thelavendartree.blogspot.com/2013/01/taking-step.html

Saturday, January 26, 2013. My last post was on Martin Luther King Jr Day. I've been doing a lot of thinking since then about this blog and it's future. I know I've told you before that I've really struggled with my creative thinking and energy over the past.well, many months. With a heavy heart, I've decided that I need to take a sabbatical of sorts from my blog. I'm feeling somewhat relieved, but yet much sadness by taking this step - but I'm doing what I feel is best for me at this time. A bit about me.
