When DNS server get unreachable it could not able to resolve it name to ip or ip to name, due to which rsyslog service gets hangs. So when rsyslog get hangs, it does not allow to do SSH. Only the existing session can do any activity. This happens when rsyslog is configured with only one queue. Remove the DNS server entry from the server.
