The Central Otago Rail trail runs through the Ida Valley and we can accommodate guests doing the Omakau to Oturehua leg with Omakau being just over the hill and Oturehua just up the valley (pickup and drop off is complimentary by arrangement). The Poolburn section has to be one of the most spectacular and interesting sections with the viaduct and tunnels. If you’re reasonably fit then you can ride up to the Poolburn Reservoir (18km with a very gradual incline when you start up the hill).
