Skip to Main Content Area. Wakehurst v Crusaders Reserves. Sat 1st Aug - 2:00pm. Paul Muirs first team completed their pre-season schedule with a 3-2 victory over Crusaders Reserves at Mill Meadow. In an almost perfect first half display, Lee McClelland rattled the crossbar with a terrific 25 yard strike inside the first half a minute before Jordon Foster opened the scoring with seven minutes played. Tiarnan Rafferty won a flick on in the box which was collected by Diarmuid.

One of new manager Paul Muirs biggest early decisions was always going to be deciding who was given the captains armband following long serving skipper Dougie Stevensons retirement. Midfielder George Young has been the chosen man to replace Dougie with new signing Karl Steele being named as his deputy. George joined Wakehurst from Larne - where he also captained the Inver men - after spells with Ballymena United and Ballymoney United.
