Knitika's Knit Fits: A grey tunic, all finished!
http://knitikas.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-grey-tunic-all-finished.html
Monday, November 17, 2014. A grey tunic, all finished! I finished my hand sewn tunic! It's a bit tighter than I'd prefer. I can't layer it over anything, or it puckers like it's too small. I lined, stitched, and beaded the hem. I decorated a pocket to cover the butt logo. It looks a little crooked on the dress. Oops. But I'm pretty happy with it! I'd stitch some more things to wear, but I'm mired in giftmas knitting for the time being. Nicely done, Val. And it looks great on you :). In my mothers name.

Knitika's Knit Fits: Prototype Dress
http://knitikas.blogspot.com/2015/01/prototype-dress.html
Saturday, January 03, 2015. So this starts with my interest in the All Saints Zeeda dress. I've been interested in making one. Except you can't make one. It's totally doolally. Someone bought the dress and counted and documented. The seams in it, and there's 33 panels. I don't know how it even came together. Look at this thing:. And I added sleeves, in hopes that the prototype would be wearable. Who needs sleeveless midwinter? I'm pretty happy with the results! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Number ...

Knitika's Knit Fits: The Taupe Dress
http://knitikas.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-taupe-dress.html
Wednesday, March 04, 2015. And here it is, the Inspired-by-Zeeda dress! It's not at all an attempt at a copy, it's an homage. It's a princess-seamed pattern from Alabama Chanin, designed for knits, with alterations and embellishments to the skirt. I cut two copies of the dress from the pattern, making a lining that had the main structure of the dress, but not the extra skirt action. Here's the inside:. Let me show you the back of the dress. And the details of the side panels:. View my complete profile.

Tuesday, September 23, 2014. The Long and Twisted Story about The Chocolate. So I've made two trips to the homeland this summer. The first recreational, the second for an urgent family matter. During the first, I was looking for gifts to take home for the family, and so I picked up some local chocolate. For my husband, the exotic Raw Dragon Chili Chai, and for the kidlets, the guaranteed pleasers of a solid milk chocolate for her, and a raspberry dark for him. The day before he departed, I asked my siste...

What Art Thou?: August 2009

Wednesday, August 19, 2009. The Art of Summing Up: Remembering Sock Summit. I think I've finally gotten over the general feeling of exhaustion from Sock Summit. It was a lot of fun, but getting reacclimated to the world outside of Portland was a wee-bit difficult. I soon realized that knitting in public is generally not an acceptable practice. Instead of being met with, "ooh! What are you working on? What yarn is that? I generally just get strange stares. Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Portland anymore.

Crafting for the Peanutgallery. News and updates on items in my etsy shop at http:/ peanutga11ery1.etsy.com I make hand-carved lazy kates for spinners, and DPN holders and stitchmarkers for knitters and crocheters. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Get while the getting is good. What does this mean for you? Well first off, don't let a child have them. That is important- these are tools for knitters, not toys for small children, but you all know that anyway right? Get them while you can, folks! So don't miss out.

Friday, April 16, 2010. Or Nancy's Knit Knacks Heavy Duty Ball Winder. I tried Nancy's Knit Knacks ball winder at Churchmouse Yarns and Teas. I know it just looks like a ball winder made of wood, but here is the best picture to compare "the regular winder" and Nancy's. Here is a picture taken straight on to show how much bigger and sturdier Nancy's winder is:. And here is an aerial view just to show the difference in the footprint and width:. My God, thats beautiful. I think I may need a tissue.
