Just This Side of Heresy. Sunday, April 15, 2007. Let's Ask My Friend, The Pope: Part II. This is the second part of this essay. If you haven't read the first half, you should. It's. For those of you that ignore my suggestion, please excuse the abrupt beginning. Here goes:. But what about the first century, when the bible was being written? What happened if the folks at Corinth didn't wuite get what Paul was saying about, for example, lawsuits among the brethren? From this, they could argue that he was b...

Just This Side of Heresy. Sunday, March 04, 2007. I begin again with II Corinthians 8. I noticed (surprise, surprise) that I had made no comments on chapters 8-11. I must have read through these chapters while very tired, The notes you are about to read are fresh, taken from no notebook. II Corinthians 8:16 Titus moves from Macedonia to Corinth. 9:6-10 Verses that apply to sowing and reaping. It seems that Paul was accused of talking big but acting small. Here, he argues against it, almost threatening.

http://jeremiahmcnabb.blogspot.com/2007/02/so-i-just-finished-rather-satirical.html
Just This Side of Heresy. Sunday, February 25, 2007. So I just finished a rather satirical blog on Global Warming, and now I'm here to relate some of what I've been finding in the scriptures lately. If you want to read my other piece, you can find it at http:/ blog.myspace.com/jeremiahmcnabb. If not, I won't hold it against you; feel free to hang around here. 5:9 Here, Paul refers to a previous epistle to the Corinthians. It's too bad that it isn't extant. 8:9 Continues support for the premise of 8:1,4.

Just This Side of Heresy. Friday, August 01, 2008. Is now officially my next project. I've started building the framework- number of chapters, average word per chapter requirements, order of events, general outline- I have a few plot issues to work through and a couple spiritual things to work into place. She will be when you get the first big, fat check from your book deal ;). When Vigilante returns to his home city they'll reject him, right? Yeah, baby. Lookin' forward to readin' that! I also publish a...

Just This Side of Heresy. Wednesday, August 06, 2008. My writing space has become a laboratory. In my latest Work-In-Progress, there is an extended chase/fight scene. I'm not huge on fight scenes really, and I rarely include them. For example has none. Neither has. So I've found myself asking, how do I write an action scene that consists of more that:. James ran and jumped. He punched the fellow in his face. The two of them tumbled down the slope until James exploded. Light poles like comets' tails.

Just This Side of Heresy. Sunday, January 14, 2007. For the first time. Don't worry, I won't bore you that long.even though there's about 50 points or so on my outline, I'm not going to cover them all here. Nor do I intend to include one every week. Amen? Very well, here goes:. John Calvin wrote that "the seed of the word of God takes root and brings forth fruit only in those whom the Lord, by his eternal election, has predestined to be children and heirs of the heavenly kingdom.(1)". A Calvinist, of cou...

Just This Side of Heresy. Saturday, March 03, 2007. As some of you may have noticed, I had no notes on I Corinthians 16. The chapter consisted of "How to take an offering" and a few updates and greetings. While I'm always on the lookout for places where Paul is sending someone somewhere (as I mentioned BEFORE. I didn't see anything of note, here. This blog begins my study of II Corinthians. 3:1-2 No diploma is necessary fir ministry. 4:13 Saving faith is belief in action. 5:14-15 Christ died for all.

Just This Side of Heresy. Sunday, April 08, 2007. Let's Ask My Friend, The Pope: Part I. This is an excerpt from a piece of non-fiction that I'm working on. Because of the overall length, I'm only posting about half of it tonight. Thought it may sound like I'm building a case for Catholicism, I'm really not. Tonight is just prep-work. Lord willing, I'll make my intended case next week. But the question remains: What did Wozniak intend to say to Pope Paul VI? Protestant churches, all four million kinds, d...

Just This Side of Heresy. Saturday, January 20, 2007. This is Part II of last week's essay, though I suppose it can stand on it's own. Roger is a made-up name, by the way. I'm protecting his anonymity because I'm fairly certain I know what it's like to be alluded to on myspace, and as much as I dislike it, I'd prefer that over an overt mentioning of my name. He was the best lover, the best fighter, the best at hacky-sack and yo-yo. At least, this was his delusion. Not surprising. Last week, we did a ...
