The Scritchy Nib: December 2013
http://thescritchynib.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. A brief hello and recap; or, one last post for 2013. Yes, this is me blogging on New Year's Eve, because I've been spending the day taking care of all those little fiddly tasks that just never quite get done because I don't want them to carry over into the new year, and that includes blogging. My next-younger sister and her family came out to Utah to visit for a month this summer, which was great. Lots of partying and shoe shopping for bridesmaid shoes and such. They a...In ad...

forty gallons of sap: February 2016
http://fortygallonsofsap.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
Forty gallons of sap. These are the ramblings of an amateur epeolatrist. Friday, February 12, 2016. Magnifical vs. Cool Beans. Want to express appropriate awe without resorting to "Sick! Or "Nasty" (both formerly primarily negative terms whose definitions have undergone a most peculiar process of amelioration)? Ditch the "cool beans" and try " magnifical. On the tongue for taste! Try inserting magnifical into random conversations without seeming, well, a trifle magnifical! Yeah Magnifical, man! Which Pai...

The Scritchy Nib: Make the call.
http://thescritchynib.blogspot.com/2013/01/make-call.html
Wednesday, January 09, 2013. I don't know how to write this post. It's been bumping around in my mind for days. I've been staring at my computer for much longer than I care to admit, and still I got nothin'. It was a good speech, with just the right sincerity-to-cliches ratio, and Bee did a good job giving it. Even with all the other times I've run across that poem in my later years as an English major nerd, I still think of her each time I hear it. Of course she struggled, but her optimism and determina...

The Scritchy Nib: August 2011
http://thescritchynib.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 13, 2011. The problem with blog-stalking. Like, all the time. I love reading blogs and stalking them. Doesn't matter whose blog. Friend, family, acquaintance, celebrity of some type, complete stranger. I'm usually pretty comfortable with this status. I don't really feel guilty for stalking blogs. But every now and then it causes problems. And then. Yes, then. The blog author decides to make their blog private. But more often it turns out to be the blog of someone who I vaguely know but t...

The Scritchy Nib: November 2011
http://thescritchynib.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 18, 2011. I know my Floridian-born-and-raised husband would certainly disagree with me on this, but there are few things that I love the way I love sitting in the house with all the blinds open and all the lights off in the late afternoon of a late November day waiting for it to start snowing outside. I can smell the snow; it's right around the corner and I'm so excited for it. That's my favorite kind of snow, and I'm kind of psyched for it. Thus hath scritched elliespen. Which is what t...

The Scritchy Nib: Oh, man.
http://thescritchynib.blogspot.com/2013/01/oh-man.html
Thursday, January 17, 2013. This had me laughing so hard that I started crying so hard that the Little Guy noticed and came over to give me a hug and say "Awwwwww." (Which, in Little Guy speak, is "There, there. It okay."). Thus hath scritched elliespen. 3/29/13, 10:35 AM. Very nice blog. FIFA 15 Coins. 4/11/15, 2:34 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. The scritchy nib gets the oil. Er, ink. Two Times A Miss. Yes, that's it. Well that was unexpected. Stardust by Neil Gaiman.

After class I drove to the Provo Temple and snapped some photos. I don't know why but I have this interest in the Provo Temple now. I never did before, but for some reason I like it. I love the architecture and the symbolism behind it. It's been said that the design of the Provo Temple is to represent Moses' Burning Bush. :) I love that! So last night when I took pictures I only liked 3 of the ones I took with my camera (I had taken some with my phone which are just AWESOME! Here are my favorite 3:.
