Monday, February 6, 2012. Spent the weekend in a cabin with Oma and Grandpa in Glacier. Then we went snowshoeing on Saturday at Mt. Baker. Getting ready at the cabin. So excited to get out in the snow. Ready for some sunshine! Hugo rode in the backpack. Notice my ski socks on his legs for some added warmth. Hugo just sat back and enjoyed the ride. Well, at least I enjoyed it. The route up to the Knob for lunch. Eating sandwiches and apples for lunch. Playing around with Dad back in the cabin.

Wednesday, December 7, 2011. December 4, 2011: Hugo's First Day Skiing. We took Hugo up to Hyak for his first day skiing. He had on his typical onesie and pants, fleece overalls and hooded coat, and a full ski suit. With hat and neck gator. You think he is warm enough? We skinned up the XC trail and skied down the same way, being very cautious. But Hugo did great! He was even laughing at the top when we took him out and let him kick around. Thursday, January 19, 2012. When going out in the snow it is important to layer. Here's Hugo in a polypro base layer. The 18 mo. size fits his 6 mo. old body perfect.). Now with a warm fleece mid-layer and wool socks. You loose 90% of your heat out the top, so a warm hat is very important. A Poofy outer layer is warm and fashionable. Are we done getting dressed yet Mom? I'm ready to go outside! We just need some wool mittens and a couple warm blankets, and Hugo is ready for the snow.
