He was also founder Treasurer of Maruthankuzhi Residents Association. He was editor of Public Relations Reporter. He is a Life Member of Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), New Delhi. He started his literary career by writing poems at the age of 15. From the age of 17 years he was a regular contributor to all Malayalam periodicals with pen-name Perunna N.R. He wrote short stories, literary essays. His first book was on advertising, titled Parasyakala Pralobhanathite Margam, a collection of essays on Advertising, which was published in 1985. His other books are Vilapavum Kalapavum Kavithayil.

He is Senior Research Fellow of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. He was awarded the Fellowship during 2010-12. His topic of research is Animation as a Tool of Expression in TV Commercials A Technological Perspective . He was awarded in various Short-story Competitions including the Malayala Nadu Weekly Short-story Competition. He was awarded for his writings in the periodicals, on consumer awareness by the All Kerala Consumer Protection Co-ordination Council, Ernakulam in 1991.
