Contemporary Poetry by Lori Hamilton. 8230;poetry is language at its most distilled and most powerful. 8230;purple does something strange to me. 8230;lay down at sunrise drunk with light. 8230;everything is blue again like morning. 8230;I am watercolor. I wash off. 8230;it was the real meaning of sun. 8230;it will take all of your breath. 8230;everyone in me is a bird. 8230;to stand in melt in the sun. 8230;green was the silence. Contemporary Poetry by Lori Hamilton. August 6, 2015. This might be yesterday, or tomorrow, the same. Wind rustles corn, row on row, the same search. For faltering light, threaded loosely like ribbons of former clouds, like palsied wingbeats of my own breathing, mourning stands the lonely tree. This entry was posted in poetry. Contemporary Poetry by Lori Hamilton. Understanding the ramifications of indiscretion. August 3, 2015. Black fades from its own fullness. Undressing trees from their. Stars are orphaned by. Notice as an aged fall flower. Straightens her crooked spine. Startles the grazing white-tailed deer. To run with the wildwater. It seems the air is colder here. Just before the light. As if the warmth was somehow. A dozen years long. Forgotten to the fields. Like the secret language of butterflies. A fine WordPress&#...

Contemporary Poetry by Lori Hamilton. Understanding the ramifications of indiscretion. July 31, 2015. Sometimes everything is missing. Perhaps night is weak. Even the moon slides away to. Soft edges of darkness. In the cold awakening. Another tired day scatters sunlight. Old river, relaxed. A peculiar musky scent slips the water. A red-tailed hawk in flight. Talons tear through the blue. Sometimes anything is something. The soul is fashioned from. And dots of color. Deeper than the self. Is nothing at all.

December’s Love Song. April 20, 2013. That crazy summer night,. Ended with a kiss. Waves returned back to the sea,. Filling the moment with a silent bliss. And left me half contained,. Entangled, with a bunch of dreams. Those fantasies relived,. When thoughts spark from dead. Each word that outlasted,. From it’s concealed state unread. Collected from the landfill,. And painted with blues of morning light,. Days kept flowing with the waves,. Broken up, thoughts stood still. Winter came again,. For the one,.
