Saturday, 4 August 2007. And they all came back to change! All of the groups on the 10 week expedition returned in very high spirits from their Phase 1 project sites on Monday for Changeover. Admittedly, most people returned unrecognisable as their former selves and Tim and Andy, Alpha 3 trek leaders, had clearly let themselves go. Surely no mirrors and very little water are poor excuses to go a whole three weeks without shaving? But each was special in its own unique way. To the tune of Wonderwall.

Thursday, 21 June 2007. What it's like at Fieldbase. We are surrounded by trees, hills and rather excitingly, baboons (not literally of course, that would be very unnerving, but we do see them). There isn’t a cloud in the sky and the weather is just perfect. Said it gets cold at night, it wasn’t a cruel joke or ruse to get us to pack unnecessary fleeces and jackets. After Foxtrot 2 I went over to the East of Sabah to meet up with Foxtrot 4 in Batu Puteh, who, when they weren't moving their pontoon so they could have a mud free wash, were working non stop on the eco-lodge, a 15 minute boat ride away from their camp.
