Koukla House: May 2013
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 20, 2013. We finished most on the work on these a few months ago but have been slowly putting on the finishing touches. It's actually quite amazing that I managed to take these photos of a (relatively) tidy room as five minutes after these were taken there 4 kids in here jumping on beds and pulling everything out of the closet. Serves me right for doing things on the weekend when the boys are around. The world map was a bargain online from Cudo. The Tintin poster is from Side Street Vintage.

Koukla House: November 2012
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 9, 2012. I've recently developed a slight obsession with textiles especially handwoven and embroidered. I've been drooling over Kanthas and Suzanis. And spent hours trawling the internet and bemoaning the fact that I don't live in the USA. Uzbek-craft.com - look but don't attempt to buy if you're in Australia. Those few US stores that do ship to Australia charge you ridiculous prices - US$100 to ship a 1kg suzani throw! This is the textile I bought and here is it's story. I've Moved To W...

Koukla House: September 2012
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 28, 2012. Flowers, monkeys, broken pavements, hot days and cool nights. And so many shops. Ubud isn't a "village", it's definitely a town. Or maybe more accurately a series of villages that have spread out, joined up and become a town. Our hotel, Alam Indah. Was gorgeous. It was situated on the other side of the Monkey Forest from Ubud making it very quiet as the road was a dead end. We walked through the Monkey Forest the first morning. Nasi Campur in Ubud. I'm tired AND bored. Restaur...

Koukla House: Happy Anniversary Ralph
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2014/01/happy-anniversary-ralph.html
Monday, January 13, 2014. Would you like to come back to the Gallery for a cup of tea? Amused as it seemed such an ”Irish” invitation. They sure do love their tea. How could we pass up such a disarming proposition? The Lavelle Art Gallery. The evening ended in the early morning. We left tired, elated and wistful at what might have been. I did have his email though…. Tina of Koukla House. January 14, 2014 at 11:23 AM. This comment has been removed by the author. July 4, 2014 at 7:20 AM.

Koukla House: July 2014
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 5, 2014. Too soon to travel? I have been back from my Malaysian holiday for 6.5 days. However I'm addicted to travel. Not just the act of it but the anticipation. Let's face it, some aspects of travel aren't that fun. Long haul flights, traipsing through tropical heat trying to find a restaurant we all agree on, mosquitos, children who get travel sick. Koukla House: August 2013
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 31, 2013. Guest Post - "Barcelona" by Ralph Lavelle. The very first thing after retrieving our stuff from the luggage carousel at Barcelona airport, I sought out. A bookshop. I’d been looking forward to reading in Spanish in Spain, and I knew that, unlike Bono, I'd find what I was looking for -. La sombra del viento. Más vale pájaro en mano que cien volando. 8220;a bird in the hand is worth more than one hundred flying”) as they say. Another of the highlights of our trip was Barcelona Ca...

Wednesday, August 27, 2014. New Site: kouklahouse.com. I've decided to move the blog so check it out at kouklahouse.com. The blog will be taking a different path now and I'll be concentrating on our wildly irresponsible plan to move to Zakynthos for four months and write a book. Tina of Koukla House. Koukla House: Trip - Part Tres
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2013/09/trip-part-tres.html
Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Trip - Part Tres. We were sad to leave beautiful L’Avenc but also excited about our next adventure – crossing the Pyrenees into France. The day started bright and clear as we headed north into the foothills of the Pyrenees stoping at Sant Joan de les Abadesses. For lunch and a quick look at its famous bridge. Then up through the mountain pass to Puigcerda and the French border. View of the town from the Fort. Our final destination was Villefranche-de-Conflent. Train tracks ...

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Trip Part Uno - Barcelona. We’ve been back two weeks and I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact. It’s taken a lot longer this trip than normally. Usually at the end of a trip I start to look forward to returning home, sleeping in my own bed and having my things around. But not this time. Our family is on a two-year cycle of European holidays. We have the good year, followed by the lean year of accruing all our holidays and getting by on the odd long weekend away. If I thought ...

Koukla House: August 2012
http://kouklahouse.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 12, 2012. Well the dining room is finally finished. I must admit that it took longer than I thought. Mainly due to my procrastinating when it came to painting. I'm pretty happy with the way it came together and as well as the more expensive items I managed to get some bargains and even some freebies. Lovely Belgian vintage table from Collectors Corner. Pine dresser found in shed and painted Chalk Blue. My beautiful new sofa prize from Contempo furniture. So comfy - thanks Contempo! The onl...
