Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Approaching the finish line. I have so much gratitude for my family and friends who made this year possible. I will write more about my appreciation in a future post. I want to go home, but I'm not sure where that is. Sometimes home is driving with Nukah by my side, windows down, sun shining, music playing, and a cup of coffee in the holder. To answer my mom's question: no, most of the students did not like the ambrosia salad. It's a lonely world, working with teenagers. Everyday...

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Driving Ms. Gili. I was so confident in Veronica's skills that I experimented with photography as she drove me around. Next week, Veronica might drive faster than 25 mph. Look out, Brooklyn. Monday, June 28, 2010. Additionally, we got along almost too well with our realtors and they've offered to let me shadow them for a few days to see if I'd like to begin a career in realty. I never imagined myself selling and renting property, but that won't stop me from giving it a try.

Thursday, September 30, 2010. I saw you there, my favorite book, on a table in a puddle of rain, pages curled and yellowed. What did the ink-soaked sign taped below you used to say? I find you all the time, discarded or thrown into a box of tired, old books, sitting by the curb. Tuesday, September 28, 2010. By hook or by book. Which was quite good. While browsing for books, I found a copy of one of my favorites, Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Even though the copy I ordered from Amazon should arrive any day ...

Friday, July 30, 2010. Brunch at my old college spot. Delicious carb-loading before our New York diets kick in again. We're on the road again. We'll be back in Brooklyn for a late dinner. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Love before breakfast, the motto in Minong, Wisconsin. Joe and I made a quick stop in downtown Minong, home of one of Joe's favorite delicacies. Jack Link's Beef Jerky. We stocked up for the twenty-hour ride. The mystery discount freezer tickled my bones. I'm going to miss the Midwest. After we ...

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. On the way to the Bay Area,. Joe and I entertained ourselves. In our usual fashion. Thanksgiving morning, we walked around Lake Merritt in Oakland. The food was super yummy for Thanksgiving dinner. Rui-Bing broke it down before we stuffed ourselves. Hungry (and thankful) guests. Everyone made delicious dishes except me. (I was Joe and Rui-Bing's helper.). Sandra and Rui-Bing (on left) were gracious and lovely hosts. It was as greasy and delicious as I'd remembered. We also too...

At Walter Reade with Veronica (consensus: we loved it). I much prefer Béatrice Dalle in Domaine. Than in Betty Blue. Major, major crush. Book of the Week:. After some post-Alice Munro depression, I became absorbed in Eileen Myles' Inferno (a poet's novel). Music of the Week:. Milkymee soundtrack from Domaine. A Little More About Me.
