My Marathon Journey

I can now officially call myself a marathoner – YAAAAY! I don’t know where to begin telling you all about my marathon experience, my whole weekend in London was unforgettable from start to finish! Every time I go to London I forget how big it is, you can’t just get 3 miles from A to B in 10 minutes like you can at home! Marathon morning arrived, I woke at 6am for breakfast number 1. I felt fit, healthy and well rested – couldn’t really have asked for more! From start to finish, the streets were lined wit...

December | 2014 | My Marathon Journey

https://ramblesofarunner.wordpress.com/2014/12

Boot Camp – Complete…and the results are in! December 13, 2014. Well as you can see from the t-shirt…I survived! My last week at boot camp had a few setbacks due to the stormy hebridean weather so we missed one morning class but I did an evening boxing class instead! Week four was just as tough/challenging/sore/sweaty and fun as the first three weeks, although as it got closer to Friday I felt really sad that it was coming to an end! Dropped 5% body fat. Lowered my visceral fat. Lost 3cm from my thighs.

Storm running… | My Marathon Journey

https://ramblesofarunner.wordpress.com/2015/01/11/storm-running

January 11, 2015. January, time to get fit and do lots of running, get my marathon training off to a great start…. Oh, hi there never ending storm! I decided to drag Robyn out to run 6 miles on Thursday (the night of the big storm) and it wasn’t very pretty, due to being blown sideways, backwards and any other direction than the one we wanted to be running in. So when Friday came round and it was still really windy, we had excuse number one “it’s too windy to run.”. It really is tough training for a mara...

October | 2014 | My Marathon Journey

https://ramblesofarunner.wordpress.com/2014/10

What’s in it for me? October 27, 2014. So…what made me sign up for the London Marathon? It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a couple of years now, to tick off the bucket list if you like, but I enjoy doing charity work and I would love to be able to say I had raised a substantial amount for a charity I support, through my own efforts! I’ll be fundraising for Alzheimer Scotland, which is a charity close to my family! I talk more about this on my JustGiving page). October 22, 2014. With 186 days to go unt...

February | 2015 | My Marathon Journey

https://ramblesofarunner.wordpress.com/2015/02

A weekend full of smiles :). February 9, 2015. Naturally this led to me going home and placing a rather large Topshop order, oops. So if people could remind me that this is acceptable behaviour then that would be grand! So for anyone who was there and couldn’t make out what I was trying to say…THANK YOU so much for your generosity and for supporting me in making my night a huge success! I slept at about 2:30am on Saturday morning and woke up still buzzing from the night before at 8am. I’ll take it ...

Rambles of a Writer | On writing, words & life in general

Rambles of a Writer. On writing, words and life in general. Here’s to the Bride & Groom! August 11, 2015. Today’s eagerly anticipated posting is not so much about word origins as a word meanings. How many of my legions of married followers went for a traditional church wedding where the bride walks down the aisle? As you’ll see, the. Is through the centre. And I like the fact that ‘Escape Routes’ are marked – everyone’s entitled to a last minute change of mind, after all. Led down the aisle. And so we en...
