Some notes from here. Newer posts →. A Day in the Life (Food Style). January 14, 2011. I really like food. I also have found that I really like taking pictures of food. So here’s one day spent in Bangkok if you look just at the food I ate that day, minus the fruit which I forgot to take pictures of (pineapple and strawberries). Breakfast: Fried mussels and eggs at Taling Chan Floating Market in Thonburi. Lunch/snack: Spring rolls, also at Taling Chan. Dessert: Mango and sticky rice. Yum. January 8, 2011.

Some notes from here. To a Coffee Farm and Back! TED Talks →. More than Just Sustenance. April 6, 2011. So this was breakfast the first morning. Fried eggs (heavily salted and extremely puffy – read, they used lots of oil to fry them), fresh papaya and pineapple, and cassava. Oh, and coffee, but that pretty much goes without saying. That’s a lunch plate with potato/egg salad, rice with beans (so good), chicken, carrots, and some papaya. This entry was posted in Dominican Republic. TED Talks →.

Tuesday, June 16, 2009. VMWare patch for Fedora 11. Here are the steps I did to patch VMWare 6.5.1 after upgrading to Fedora 11. This should be similar for other distros (like Ubuntu 9.06) that have kernel version 2.6.29. 1) Cleanup the yum environment. This was needed since I did an upgrade from Fedora 10 to 11. 2) Install the kernel-devel rpm (if not already there). Rpm -qa grep kernel-devel-2.6.29. Kernel-devel-2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i586. If you don't see the package above, then install it:. The original ...

Side note: Trains are awesome. Our trip from the train station to our bed and breakfast made us both want to die, as the train station was in the valley, our B&B was on one of the hills, and we were too cheap to get a taxi or bus ticket.
