Wildlife and travel diary of an Oxford naturalist. Fuerteventura: 22 – 28 February 2015. I was inspired to do this trip by Oxonbirder Peter Barker who made me aware of the destination a year ago. I picked it up as it flew reasonably low right over my head and off up the beach in the direction I'd just come from, banking as it did so and allowing me to get a good look at...

Miles From Ordinary

Sunday, June 9, 2013. Africa: a Dream, a Sickness, and a Miracle. My heart was breaking. (It may seem silly to you to be so upset, but 4 years is a long time for an impatient, crazy passionate red-head.). So what about my illness? When I arrived in Uganda, I was no longer sick. Seriously. True story. No lies. I was healed. I was so much better that I didn't even notice. I was distracted by all of the new sights and sounds that I didn't even know God healed me. Is that even possible? My God is so faithful.

The Ramblings of Two Readers

About the Rambling Readers. Our Rambling Side Trips. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Review: "Not by Sight" by Kate Breslin. This is not a typical war story, and Kate Breslin never places readers in the midst of the battlefields. Instead she takes us to the English countryside where members of Women's Forage Corps venture out of traditional female roles to help with the war effort. In the spring of 1...
