September 15, 2010 at 7:19 pm ( Uncategorized. This week, we are staycating. We have not taken a chunk of time off since Christmas last year! We are three days into it, and I’m telling you, it’s the best thing we have ever done. The goal of our time is to rest, relax, and recharge. Here are the reasons we chose to staycate instead of vacate…. 1 It’s cheap. Ok, make that “free”. Who doesn’t like that? Sounds like we are depriving our kids, doesn’t it? So far, here’s what we’ve done…. Tuesday: Went to a lo...

October 14, 2009 at 5:45 pm ( Uncategorized. I have always loved fall. Pumpkins, apple cider, leaves turning, cool weather. We had to pretend it was fall when we lived in Houston. But this place….this place OOZES fall. Everything that fall is ever supposed to be can be found here in the mountains. We took a drive up to Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway and could not believe how beautiful it was! And it was a cloudy day too! Check out these pics. My camera did not do it justice! We MUST have that faith!
