In the hall of mirrors. In the realm of the sensate. This evening, the Late Shows in the Ouseburn in an area of studios and galleries, a few small museums, the Ouseburn river running through it all this is the point in the year when they open everything up, and keep it open, late. Basically a big open house by a whole community of artists. A series of about twenty framed woodblocks, all about 4x4, of places around the area, the style recalling 1930s urban images; but the one that made me pause was in the...

In the hall of mirrors. I am in Zürich for a week, at the end of the normal Jung-Institut training sessions. I went to the graduation ceremony; there was an unusually large number of graduates, including a lot of friends (some of whom started after I did, but oh well). Hope to be up there in a year it is still possible; we’ll see. So, yes, basically: hot. A couple of days ago, I left the HIV patient group not in a huff, but definitely. I feel surprisingly calm about it: I was increasingly argumentati...

In the hall of mirrors. Cracks in the world. A strange and fragmented time. It feels like a distant echo of the 1930s: erosion, disintegration of supports and safety. Feral rage, roving attacks. A distant whiff of rot and gunpowder. The hope is that things wont get worse. if it were really like the 1930s, in a few years we would be looking at a major war, one that would occur for ludicrous reasons. But that would destroy. a lot. Does that seem like an overreaction? Yes, of course: shades of Eliade, Speng...

Nine years - in the hall of mirrors
http://inthehallofmirrors.typepad.co.uk/in_the_hall_of_mirrors/2015/05/nine-years.html
In the hall of mirrors. In the realm of the sensate ». Nine years ago today, this blog was begun. in 2006. And this the 708th post! So, about one every 4.6 days. Not as often as I feel-that-I-should, but steady enough I guess. So, hows it going? Reducing the slangy and everyday was never a conscious decision I think some of it might be my own relative isolation over the past thirteen years; plus the fact that, now that Im studying at the Jung-Institut, my brain is working harder again which is good.

In the hall of mirrors. Power down / delete / restart ». Time recently past: too much stress since about the first of June some of which twisted at me such that my guts started to react: I felt relatively calm but my body didnt. Id still like to ascribe this partly to current liver damage; which will hopefully be cured in August-October; which will perhaps improve the situation a bit. though yes, I know: once your body gets into certain tension/stress patterns its there, perhaps, forever. I undoubtedly t...

In the hall of mirrors. Laquo; It's complicated. Through all this, I and the delicately beautiful young woman in my row, in a stylish summer dress and dark red high heels Spanish, Israeli? I cant help it one bark of laughter. No one notices; she smiles with me, laughs quietly. And we relax as the plane rises. I show her this when it is written, and we talk; she is Turkish, but has grown up in the Netherlands. We talk about family, food, the places we’ve traveled, for two hours. Tiere sind wir,. Popular M...
