In an effort to get back in hiking shape for some upcoming trips, I've been making a point to get out on the trail more often. When I was getting in shape for Half Dome, I was hiking every week! So I did a quick hike up to Sandstone Peak, the highest point in the Santa Monica Mountains. Oddly enough, the peak isn't sandstone at all, but red volcanic rock.
