Wonderings of a Wandering Mind. Sunday, January 29, 2012. The Stirring of the Seeds. Last night, I joined my Womenspirit sistah Tarleton Brooks in one of her monthly Sacred Circle Dances, this one to honor and celebrate Imbolc. Tarleton offered for me to write and read a meditation for the dancers. I did, and here it is for anyone else interested in using this meditation to celebrate this ancient holyday of "in the belly". What seeds are stirring in you? What is restless to emerge? Candles represent ligh...

Wonderings of a Wandering Mind: October 7 - Autumn Memories
http://kate-stockman.blogspot.com/2010/10/october-7-autumn-memories.html
Wonderings of a Wandering Mind. Thursday, October 7, 2010. October 7 - Autumn Memories. Autumn is my very favorite time of year. I love everything about it: the true blue sky, the warm sunlight golden on trees blazing with color, the crisp, cool air, the smell of the first stove fires of the season, hot apple cider (with butterscotch schnapps! The harvest of fruits and veggies, the layers of clothes with nubby textures wrapping us like cocoons, the energetic excitement of Nature's dance before resting.

Wonderings of a Wandering Mind: Jun 21, 2009
http://kate-stockman.blogspot.com/2009_06_21_archive.html
Wonderings of a Wandering Mind. Sunday, June 21, 2009. Today is the Summer Solstice. The day of the year which has the longest daylight. Imagine how the ancients celebrated having so much light! To me, the solstices represent extremes: the most or least number of hours of daylight. This. I have quoted Donna Henes. Before, and I will do so again, because I think she says it so well:. The seasonal ascent of light and temperature is not - despite popular belief - due to our distance from the sun, but to the...

Wonderings of a Wandering Mind. Monday, January 25, 2010. For the New Year, Live Your Own Life. One in a series for a column I am writing for our local newspaper, the Hendersonville Times-News. 8220;Every human being is unique and special unlike any who has ever existed before or will ever exist again. But when we become captives of culturally defined roles and behaviors – stereotypes – we interfere with. Becoming all that we can be. Death: The Final Stage of Growth. Our culture encourages that mentality...

Claude's Cove: Summer Official
http://claudescove.blogspot.com/2013/06/summer-official.html
Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Post vacation.back to the city. Picnic lunch, full sun NOMA Square, wishing for shade to enjoy the lovely new space. Contemplate summer projects, garden sprucing, painting up face lifts, looking for colors to upfit moods and cool thoughts. Small art creations surround and smile at passersby, inspiring. Hot days call for indoor nesting, sorting, planning, dreaming. Evening gazing at the super moon. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Phil Garrett - Art.

Minu kodunurk.: Tooreste seente soolamine.
http://kodublog.blogspot.com/2015/07/tooreste-seente-soolamine.html
Tellimine: Postituse kommentaarid (Atom). ART MUSE-INGS: Bees- day 3
http://housefiber.blogspot.com/2011/04/bees-day-3.html
Friday, April 15, 2011. I had to open the hives this morning to check the feeders and refill them. I was not sure at all what to expect. I must say, I was very surprised at how placid the bees were. When I removed the feeders, some bees were on them, but all I had to do was brush them carefully away. You can see the queen cage on the left half of the picture. Next time I open the hive, I will have to smoke the bees (and try not to fry them! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

ART MUSE-INGS: April 2011
http://housefiber.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 30, 2011. I have now had my two hives for just over two weeks and I had to open them and check that things were going OK. First thing to note, I have NOT mastered the use of the smoker! But even without smoke, I could look into the hives and move the frames around:. I wish I could have taken pictures of what I saw, but it is kind of tricky to hold a frame covered with bees in one hand and hold the camera to take a picture with the other. It would not be a good idea to drop that frame!

ART MUSE-INGS: February 2010
http://housefiber.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 8, 2010. I keep making progress on the new box, which is a good feeling. I am very pleased with the chartreuse color of this fabric. I had only a very small piece of that. I dyed more and I think I nailed it! Now on to the other element. Each little piece was cool but put together it looks like a "piggy round table", doesn't it? Monday, February 1, 2010. ART MUSE-INGS: February 2012

Wednesday, February 8, 2012. New box, new exhibit. I just finished my newest box, Victorian Roses, in time to send it to the "In Bloom" exhibit at the Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts in Duluth, GA. The box does not contain a necklace but a journal and a pen. There is a small compartment inside the lid to keep "secrets". (I only have a couple of snapshots! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
