Random bits and bytes. Custom Map Renderer: iOS. February 16, 2017. And that is the subject of the this blog post. In the previous blog post, we looked at creating a custom renderer for Android. Now we will look at doing the same with iOS. With iOS, things are simpler in at least one regard: you don’t have to go get an access key for your app. If you are still here …. The CustomMKAnnotationView class derives from MKAnnotationView. It adds a couple of new properties for the Id of the marker and a URL ...

Random bits and bytes. Xamarin Forms Master Detail Pages Tip. February 28, 2017. Sometimes you just end up banging your head on things and can’t see what is directly in front of you …. In my case, I was setting up an app with a MasterDetailPage. And no matter what I did with it, it kept crashing on start up. It didn’t matter if I put the Master content in a separate page or embedded all of the XAML right in the MasterDetailPage itself. Crash. MasterDetailPage.Master ContentPage Title=FILL THIS IN!

Random bits and bytes. Google Play Services on Marshmallow. December 9, 2016. I am working on an app that uses maps. I am planning on targeting Marshmallow at a minimum. I am also using the Visual Studio Android Emulator. If you don’t already know, the Visual Studio emulator doesn’t come with the Google Play Services, which are required if you want to use maps in your app. In a previous app, I was able to spin up an emulator, go to http:/ teamandroid.com/gapps. I then found another article. From Rob Prou...

Random Bits And Beans
Random Bits And Beans. Søndag 8. november 2009. Windows 7 drivers for Apple USB Ethernet Adapter. Some weeks ago I set up my Xbox360 in my livingroom. I already had gigabit ethernet to my htpc but adding another cable just for my xbox was not an option, and adding a switch was not worth the added mess of cables( and lack of WAF ). So I just went to my local Apple store and picked up an Apple USB Ethernetadapter. Its just cheap and simple. But: there is no official drivers for windows! Thats what I used).

Random Bits Of Randomness
Random Bits Of Randomness. Friday, July 27, 2012. WAS I REALLY GONE SO LONG? One day, almost 3 years ago, I just disapeared from here! I didnt mean to do that. I recently had my first look at my blog in all that time and I cant believe I just abandoned it like that. I actually like my little blog. I was just beginning to even get a few people who would read occasionally and then I deserted them too! Later, I even got rid of my internet access at home. I know- -can you believe it? What could I say? I hope...

Monday, November 26, 2012. Move of My Blog to my Own Server and Wordpress. I love Blogger.com. From Google, it’s a great way for anyone of any skill level to start blogging. You can find it here at the new URL - http:/ randombitsbytes.com. I highly recommend WordPress. Bookmark the new page. Well, I gues...

Solutions Looking For Problems
Solutions Looking For Problems. Coding for the love of it. Calculate π by throwing darts. We can approximate pi using nothing more than random numbers and some simple geometry: in essence, we randomly throw darts at a square board of side r; within the square we inscribe a quadrant of a circle of radius r with its centre at (0, 0). We count all of the 'throws'; if a dart lands within the quadrant, we also count a 'hit'. For a large number of throws, we see that:. Hits area of quadrant. Def is a hit(self):.
