Elder y Hermana Hoffman. We helped with the 7:00 am missionary session- it was early, but only took a couple of hours. It is always a treat to be with the missionaries who love the temple and get a great boost from the experience they share there together with each other and their mission president. The 9:00 session was packed and the laundry was going at full speed trying to keep up. Several weeks ago John found a great uncle (his grandfather's brother) whose temple work had never been done. So, John to...

Elder y Hermana Hoffman. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. Monterrey West Mission- Elder Holland Conference. May 20, 2013. What is your purpose as a missionary? It is to take investigators to salvation. How do we do that? Because this was a very important message- the only message: Live as Christ lived. See Hel. 5:17-19). 8220;Why is the work so hard? Why isn't it easier? I bear witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ and of the Father. May 21, 2013. There is Sunshine in my Soul today). The gospel is true).

Elder y Hermana Hoffman. The Best Christmas Present Ever! Christmas Eve Day with the Monterrey Mexico West Mission:. And a popcorn ball . (guess where they came from! And an envelope with our names on it. Assuming it was a form letter from the Mission President, we didn't even bother to open it- in fact, most of the young missionaries didn't open their letter's either. It is a Christmas that we will never forget. We send our gift in return- but the grandkids might have to decode it for the grown-ups:.

Elder y Hermana Hoffman. Dinner with the Iglesias. We had dinner at the Bishop's house after church Sunday along with the missionary sisters and the first counselor and his wife. Their entire house would fit into our Farmington front room and is a third-floor walk-up. Sister Iglesias is a wonderful cook! She is a very socially generous person and so sat in on the lessons, but refused to give an opinion or answer any questions. She did admit that occasionally she would ask a question, because she was ...

Elder y Hermana Hoffman. At the end of fairy tales and children's stories in English, we always say, "And they lived happily ever after," or sometimes, "Snip, snap, snout. This tale's told out." In Spanish we say, "Colorín, colorado, este cuento se ha acabado." (Bright yellow, bright red, this story's all said). Are the most generous people in the world and have become part of our hearts and souls during our 16 months in beautiful Monterrey. La Fundidora, Chimney #2. The Elevator to the Top. Monterrey is...
