Life in the Emptying Nest: A change of caffeine
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-change-of-caffeine.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Saturday, January 17, 2015. A change of caffeine. Fast forward to September 2014 when I decided to give up Diet Coke and start drinking water instead. It’s been great, and I never looked back. However, while we were making a trip right after Christmas to visit our three kids (over 2200 miles of driving), I started thinking about the caffeine of it all. But I wasn’t willing to go back to the mass quantities of Diet Coke. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Moment to Meditate.

Life in the Emptying Nest: August 2011
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Something I've been thinking about for some time now is the fact that there are so many things that I love to do, and I never get to any of them. So many ideas in my head, but never following through. No money no time other things that seem more important = none of these things get done. Well, I've decided that as my summer ends, I want to use part of the remaining days of it for productive fun! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Life in the Emptying Nest: December 2011
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Thursday, December 1, 2011. It could be funny, but it isn't, really. All those plans I had in my last post on how I was going to find more time by accepting less subbing jobs. GREAT plan. Until I got sick. It's funny how I always think I've got these great ideas, great plans. But then God tells me to look at Him. And I realize that it's all going to be fine - He's got it under control. And aren't we all glad that it's Him and not me . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Life in the Emptying Nest: January 2012
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Saturday, January 21, 2012. When you think about it, my life has pretty much revolved around school of some sort. Of course, there's the first through twelfth grade that most everyone does (I never went to kindergarten.) As a child, when I wasn't in. School, I played. Most of my summer jobs were working for my school district in one form or another. Then there was college. Then we had kids, and, of course, you're always teaching your kids something. Mullings and musings of w. dennis griffith. July 11, 2015. That said, this was just too funny to pass up! I have no idea whether Joel Osteen is a good guy or not. He seems like he might be. I also have no idea whether Joel Osteen is a Christian or not. He claims to be. But the message he preaches is far more humanist than Biblical. Thus if what he preaches is a reflection of all he believes, it seems troubling. The False Promise of the Prosperity Gospel: Why I Called Out Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer.

Life in the Emptying Nest: Waiting
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2012/06/waiting.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Friday, June 8, 2012. Whenever I wait for something my mind does all kinds of weird things. It thinks of reasons why something won't happen. It thinks of reasons why it will happen. It smacks me upside the head for thinking too much. In the meantime, I wait. I know there is an answer. I know that God will tell me what it is. I know it will be the right one. Thy will be done. June 9, 2012 at 8:21 AM. I do the same thing! Our minds are funny places. June 12, 2012 at 7:22 PM.

Life in the Emptying Nest: February 2014
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Friday, February 21, 2014. So getting a tooth pulled this week wasn't the horrific experience I'd imagined. I've been off from school since then, trying not to use the heavy-duty pain meds they gave me. I used them the first day after, but not yesterday, but now I find I need to again (they told me this would happen.). Even if I'm not doing chores or whatever, I always feel like I have to be doing SOMETHING. Again, my tendency to want to do my own thing apart from God is expose...

Life in the Emptying Nest: No Way Has It Been 18 Months Since My Last Post.

Life in the Emptying Nest. Saturday, December 28, 2013. No Way Has It Been 18 Months Since My Last Post. But then, so much has happened. Honestly, I can't remember the last half of 2012 without referencing it in my planner, but 2013 was jam-packed with stuff:. Joel's graduation from the state police academy. Joel starting his new job and moving. A 5-week long music subbing gig. The birth of Jack and Ben. Spending most of a week in MD to help a little. Leah's graduation from college. So, anyway, as I look...

Life in the Emptying Nest: Art Journal time
http://lifeintheemptyingnest.blogspot.com/2014/01/art-journal-time.html
Life in the Emptying Nest. Wednesday, January 8, 2014. I've always been fascinated by the idea of an art journal. My friend Rosanne has been creating nature journals for years, and it is something that has intrigued me. So I've decided to give it a go. I joined a Facebook group called Journal52 that gives you a art/writing prompt each week. I used a $25 Amazon gift card that I got for Christmas to order supplies. January 9, 2014 at 1:49 PM. I cant wait to see it! January 10, 2014 at 5:44 PM. I may post p...
