V Knits
http://belleangeknits.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
If I could read and knit at the same time, I could take over the world. Saturday, July 21, 2007. Please enjoy this slightly stiff photo of my foot inside what actually turned out to be a sock. Can we say, hellooo, awesome vertical stripes? Shocking, indeed. With a foot not in it it doesn't seem quite sock-shaped, but I'm sure a washing and a blocking will take care of that. I love my cheap ol' wire coat hanger sock blockers. Still to come: Argosy! Posted by V @ 9:10 PM. Links to this post. Which I have f...

The Smile Spot . . .: December 2010

Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Tiny scarf for charity. My church has a giving tree - - you pick an ornament, purchase the gift written on the ornament, and return it to the church. The gift goes to one of the children of a needy family in the parish. The ornament I chose said a hat, scarf, and gloves set for a 4 year old boy. A nice simple scarf for a young boy in need. :). Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Pictures from sheep shearing day. Waiting his turn. impatiently. The actual shearing was about 5 min per sheep. Most didn't even squirm. Wool, lovely wool! Or rather, fleece, lovely fleece! This was from just three sheep. There were at least 30 to be shorn! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). March 31 from 9-5. I Read; I Recommend. The Smile Spot . . .: Occupy what?
http://smilecreationscrafts.blogspot.com/2011/11/occupy-what.html
Wednesday, November 9, 2011. So I'll be honest. While I've seen some posts mentioning Occupy Wall Street, and I saw a crazy picture of tents on an Oakland freeway, I really don't know what exactly that means. However, a couple days ago, I came across the above image on Facebook . And I really like it. Even without understanding completely the Occupy Wall Street part, I support the sentiment. As I learn about cool hand craft gatherings, or stand-out Mom and Pop shops, I'll blog about them. I'm Patience, a...

Sometimes They're Cute: May 2011

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Not From Around Here. I know. I'm awful. But it was his choice to follow so closely at 70 mph. . . . . I went shopping at the small local market up here in “the canyon”. The parking lot is the street. I’m not joking. As we emerged from the teeny tiny (super cute and staffed with nice people) market pushing our shopping cart down the street, Lucas hollers out to me over the rattle of the cart “Mom they really need to pave this road.”. They really do need to pave that road. In fact w...

Sometimes They're Cute: Taxidermy that Fuzzy Prairie Dog Ass, Please
http://sometimestheyrecute.blogspot.com/2011/07/taxidermy-that-fuzzy-prarie-dog-ass.html
Sunday, July 3, 2011. Taxidermy that Fuzzy Prairie Dog Ass, Please. I have a dear friend that LOVES to paper craft. If she gets to visit a new scrap booking store filled with new stuff she goes nuts. You probably have a similar type of store that gets you excited too. Maybe it is a cooking, clothing, jewelry, or thrift store. For some it is a store with spices or a farmers market that gets them super excited. What is your ideal store to shop? My ideal store is an outdoor sporting goods store. SO unnecess...

Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Another market bag by Oat Couture. This time the bag is for Christine, a student and my neighbor across the street. She loves pink and purple, so off I went to Joann Fabrics last Saturday, to purchase some cotton yarn in those colors. The bag itself always knits up rather quickly, which makes it the perfect project to grab when I'm feeling impatient (hahahaha) or recently unproductive. Three days after casting on, I have a bag! http://smilecreationscrafts.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2009. A farm in Landenberg, PA, the Meadowset Farm and Apiary. Has an annual openhouse/sheep shearing day. This year it'll be March 14th beginning around 10am. I've never been but my friend Reluctant Mango. Said it was a fun little event last year, with spinning demos, sheep shearing (obviously), and finished items for sale. And they shared some homemade lamb chili (yum! I think I'm there. :). Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). March 31 from 9-5. I Read; I Recommend.

The Smile Spot . . .: A Quick Stocking - How To
http://smilecreationscrafts.blogspot.com/2011/11/quick-stocking-how-to.html
Sunday, November 20, 2011. A Quick Stocking - How To. 1 Fold placemat (inside out) in half width-wise (short ways). 2 Trace the outline of a stocking on the placemat. The top of the stocking should be on the finished edge of the placemat and the toe should be against the folded edge, so you don't have to sew two extra seams. 3 Sew along the traced lines, then trim off the excess fabric no more than 1/8" from the seam. 4 Turn the stocking right-side out. You have a stocking! March 31 from 9-5. I'm Patienc...
