Code Clubs are weekly after-school coding clubs for 9 - 11 year olds. Children learn to create games, animations and websites using our specially created resources, with the support of awesome volunteers. If you would like to volunteer at a local community venue, using the Code Club projects to teach children to code. Volunteer at a Code Club. Code Club | Venues

Code Club hosts work at a school, library, museum or community venue and team up with a volunteer to run a Code Club for children aged 9 11. Register as a Host. Set up a Code Club: most clubs run for one hour each week, with 10 - 20 children. Manage a club space which is safe and suitable for children. Arrange access to computers for the children to use. Download software for the children, most clubs start with Scratch. The club must be free of charge for the children to access. Read more on our blog.

The Code Club projects are step by step guides for children to follow and create animations, games, websites and much more. Go to the Projects. Children build up programming skills as they move through the projects in their club. Projects introduce key programming concepts. Step by step instructions. Children create something different and original with each project. Scratch is a graphical programming language, where children can drag and combine code blocks to make a range of programs. Code Club volunteers go to a local community venue for an hour a week and help children aged 9 - 11 learn to make games, animations and websites, using the Code Club resources. Register as a Volunteer. 12 weeks minimum commitment. One hour per week at a community venue (usually after-school, around 3.30pm). Around 15 children aged 9 - 11 in each club.
