Ray's Retirement: March 2015
http://ratbagp.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. As you might imagine, I was quite hungry after my travels. I walked back to the plaza where there were a bunch of touristy restaurants. A waiter showed me a menu and I figured I needed a bit of pampering. A few small dishes including the best sardines I have ever eaten. Marianne would have loved this salad. Sea bass from the Bosporus. Some sort of sweet dessert. The photos were taken with my cell phone. It all cost under $ 30 including a beer. It was wonderful. Posted by Ray Perry.
Ray's Retirement: May 2015
http://ratbagp.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 18, 2015. Turkey food, a dinner and some reflections. This will be my final blog about my Turkey trip and I hope you have enjoyed them. Here are some more food photos that I took with my cell phone camera. I ordered fish expecting it to be grilled but this appeared. You don't win them all. However, the fish was good. The Imam Fainted, presumably from the amount of olive oil used in making the dish. The recipe is here. Yoghurt and cucumber with some ezme in the background. Skewers of lamb at t...
Ray's Retirement: August 2015
http://ratbagp.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 25, 2015. DE 1090 - there have been better flights. All of us who travel have war stories, particularly those involving planes. Here is another. At area A of Terminal 1. This airport is a monster place and if you stay in the terminal 1 areas A or B, it seems to work fine. Our Condor plane left from C4. I think it is enough to say that they appear to be demolishing area C. Poor Marianne did not appreciate all the walking and having to go through security again. For everybody else in the ar...
Ray's Retirement: The wine road heading north
http://ratbagp.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-wine-road-heading-north.html
Wednesday, August 12, 2015. The wine road heading north. The next day we headed north on the wine road. We first tried to find a Military Cemetery that sits on a hill overlooking Saint Croix aux Mines but somehow we went along the wrong road. However we did find these interesting buildings that are Gites. Or holiday homes. Here. Is a link to these. Weird structure in front of one of the Gites. We had no idea what it was. They are part of a group called Lineback cows. Stork nest on top of the roof. Slack ...
Ray's Retirement: Innsbruck - Chez Nico
http://ratbagp.blogspot.com/2015/08/innsbruck-chez-nico.html
Monday, August 3, 2015. Innsbruck - Chez Nico. My brother-in-law travels extensively around the world giving lectures and teaching in the field of Management Information Science. My sister Clare often goes with him and in the past few years, they have gone to Innsbruck several times. One of their favourite restaurants is called Chez Nico. And they have raved about the food. We decided to push the boat out and try it. Beetroot, rasberries and something like creme fraiche. As my sister puts it:. Cucumber r...

Ray's Retirement
Thursday, August 13, 2015. A market, some mussels and a bike ride. A complaint has been received that there are not enough photos with people in them. I will try to rectify my appalling deficiency. The village holds a market every Tuesday evening in the forecourt of the Villa Burris. It is not far from the house so we wandered over to take a look. Most of the stands were selling prepared food so with all the tables, I suspect we would have seen a lot more people later in the evening. The shells were very...

ratbagqueer | Rants and Ruminations on Gender, Disability, Sexuality and Politics
Rants and Ruminations on Gender, Disability, Sexuality and Politics. On the whole Ally Mouthpiece Thing. It’s easy to dismiss the latter as “yeah cis/male/white/straight/abled problems, whatever”, but it is a genuine problem. Some issues you can’t simultaniously hold Position X and Position Y as true without some serious cognitive juggling. A good rule of thumb at this point is “do you really need to hold an opinion on this anyway? Comments : Leave a Comment. I recieved from the fandom. I think the thing...
