Reason for the Faith: On Tolerance, Political Correctness, and Relativism
http://reasonforthefaith.blogspot.com/2012/08/on-tolerance-political-correctness-and.html
Wednesday, August 1, 2012. On Tolerance, Political Correctness, and Relativism. It’s no secret that it’s a politically correct world we live in. And among the highest of modern virtues is something people flippantly refer to as “tolerance.”. I’m referring of course to the revised definition of the word, which says one should not only respect. And uphold the rights of others to have differing beliefs (the traditional definition of tolerance) but that we must also accept. Political correctness has changed ...

Reason for the Faith: Belief and Faith
http://reasonforthefaith.blogspot.com/2012/01/belief-and-faith.html
Saturday, January 21, 2012. A question such as this is why it is extremely important to know why belief and faith are different. In short, p. January 21, 2012 at 3:57 PM. Very well written Brooks! It is so true that belief is not enough! And as Christians we must live lives of FAITH not simply belief. I think thats the difference between the Sunday morning Christian and the Christian who takes radical steps of faith in obedience to God. Thanks for sharing! January 21, 2012 at 7:26 PM. Great post, bro!

Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Nye vs Ham: Post Debate Review. On the evening of February 4th, 2014 and the following day, an estimated 5 million people from over 100 different countries watched a debate concerning faith and science. Bill Nye “The Science Guy” vs Ken Ham, of Answers In Genesis, squared off to discuss the agreed topic for the debate: "Is creation a viable model of origins in today’s modern scientific era? Why would a debate that has been ongoing for centuries grab so much attention today?

Reason for the Faith: Is Drinking an Alcoholic Beverage a Sin?
http://reasonforthefaith.blogspot.com/2012/01/is-drinking-alcoholic-beverage-sin.html
Sunday, January 22, 2012. Is Drinking an Alcoholic Beverage a Sin? If reading the title of this post got your blood pumping, then that reaction is exactly why I wanted to post on this topic in the first place. The question is often raised within (and without) the body of the church regarding what the Bible. Has to say about having an alcoholic drink. You might just be surprised. First, what is sin? When does alcohol become sinful? Means: don't get drunk. Period. Further, we know drunkenness. Is offensive...

Reason for the Faith: Science within the Bible
http://reasonforthefaith.blogspot.com/2013/12/science-within-bible_27.html
Friday, December 27, 2013. Science within the Bible. Did you know the Bible makes several scientific claims which went against the grain of contemporary understanding? Even more impressive is the fact that, over the years, the scientific community has validated that those claims were accurate. How could this be? The Bible was written by some 40 different authors over a span of around 1,600 years (for more on why we can trust the accuracy of the Biblical accounts, see our post on Why only 66 books? Centur...

Reason for the Faith: When does the life of a human being start?
http://reasonforthefaith.blogspot.com/2013/11/when-does-life-of-human-being-start.html
Saturday, November 16, 2013. When does the life of a human being start? But what if the situation were different? What if the occasion where not such a joyous one? What if, for example, we were talking about a single teenaged mother who hasn’t told her parents about her promiscuity which resulted in pregnancy. She is not ready or perhaps able to provide for her baby. What if the baby were to test positive for a physical or mental handicap like Down Syndrome? What if it was your own wife or relative?

Reason for the Faith: A God-shaped Hole?
http://reasonforthefaith.blogspot.com/2013/11/a-god-shaped-hole.html
Friday, November 22, 2013. If there is a transcendent God that created the Universe and wanted a relationship with us, would we have to learn about that God’s existence, or would we know it instinctively? Ask yourself, if you could actually create something and wanted to have a relationship with it, would you give that something a desire for that same relationship? From outside looking in, how can we know that God wants a relationship with us? As a skeptic you may ask how we can know this book is divine?
