Approximate dates for these stays? The History Of Corsets. The History Of Corsets. Approximate dates for these stays? Jul 30th, 2010 03:18 pm. The History Of Corsets. Can anyone provide an approx date for these lovely stays? Firstly, these at the Met museum, which only say 18th century on the info page. Http:/ www.metmuseum.org/. These ones from Ninya Mikhaila say 1700 on the page, but I'm not sure if she means actually the year 1700, or perhaps the 1700's more generally. 2010-07-30 05:10 am (UTC). 2010-...

storage and organization - Costuming Community

Wed, Jan. 11th, 2012, 11:03 am. My big goal of the year is to organize my life, mainly my costuming life. So I am looking for help in the following areas, storing and organizing of: Costumes, fabric, books, patterns, props, and unfinished projects. Currently most of my patterns are pretty well sorted. so they are the lowest priority. Currently are being stored hanging in closets. I do multiple eras and have young children. (eldest is 5). Seriously this is the biggest issue. I don't know what I have.

Pass me another minion would you, this ones gone all mushy? Brief set of wedding pics. Sep 28th, 2009 at 4:27 PM. Will write more about wedding but in Berlin right now. Suffice it to say there were frocks and I blubbed a lot. I got through the standing ovation I got, and then lost it completely when presented with a card by all the frocked ones. I howled! Here's the bride and groom. 26 comments Leave a comment. Sep 28th, 2009 04:14 pm (UTC). Sep 28th, 2009 08:31 pm (UTC). Sep 28th, 2009 04:42 pm (UTC).

Have recently been making sample garments including a couple of rather fine Justaucorps, which we had modelled at an IC Fashion show at Maelstrom LARP. Here are some pics from the fashion show, taken by the wonderful Al Pulford from www.rockphotography.co.uk. These sample frock- coats are available in our Etsy shop.

Justeaucorps : panniers

And I recently made a couple of Justeaucorps, inspired by Diderot, as sample garments. We used a quality upholstery brocade for one, and a lovely Navy wool doeskin with a great drape for the other. We are rather proud of them. We showed them off at an IC Fashion shoot at Maelstrom LARP. Thanks to the wonderful Al of www.rockphotography.co.uk. For the action shot. They are available in our Etsy shop. Along with various reticules and acessories which would make great Xmas pressies. Post a new comment.

Men's Suit: panniers
http://panniers.livejournal.com/100562.html
Made with this Finnish dress in mind. Which is very close to the Royal Navy Midshipman 1748-1758 pattern. Fall front breeches, They're my favorite, reminds me of Hornblower movies :D. Sorry I haven't ironed waiscoat after washing. It is cotton/polyester mix jaqcuard fabric, with cotton lining. Buttons are plastic, covered by hand in cotton and embroidered with cotton thread. I've listed the other garments I can part up with here: http:/ rum-inspector.deviantart.com/jour. Post a new comment.
