Tour de South America: March 2010
http://tourdesouthamerica.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Tour de South America. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Fish, fish and more fish. First, fish soup. Then, a nice whole fish for my entree. I passed by this back in Puno after the island trip, but was just so fascinated. They look just like worms but I think they were some sort of potato. Floating islands on Lake Titicaca. This funny old man rowed us along to another island in a little boat made all of reeds. What would a floating island be without a bare bottomed little boy and some chicks? Monday, March 29, 2010.

Tour de South America: 9 Course Breakfast
http://tourdesouthamerica.blogspot.com/2010/06/9-course-breakfast_08.html
Tour de South America. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. I was recommended a hostel by a friend in Salento called Republika de Artistas. It was run by an eccentric man from Barcelona who claimed not to be a chef but cooked a nine course breakfast every morning. As I'm writing this I'm realizing that I must have forgotten a picture of the eggs, so it was actually 10 courses! Cinnamon and rosemary flavored fruit salad. Bread and apple desert. Tour de South America: June 2010
http://tourdesouthamerica.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Tour de South America. Tuesday, June 8, 2010. As I was in the coffee region of Colombia, I made a visit to a nearby plantation to see how the coffee there was grown. It was a completely organic farm run by a nice old man who showed us around and told us about all the steps of making coffee. Here's Don Elias himself picking a few coffee seeds off the plants. The seeds can be green or red, apparently they both taste the same. They were just growing all over the place. Bananas freshly cut off the tree.

Tour de South America: Mitad del Mundo
http://tourdesouthamerica.blogspot.com/2010/05/mitad-del-mundo.html
Tour de South America. Monday, May 31, 2010. The equator line runs right through Quito, so naturally this is a huge tourist attraction. Here is the "first" equator line, discovered and mapped by the French back in the 1700's or something like that. This is the more historical area. Along with GPS technology came another, more exact equator line about 200 meters away. Of course, this is yet another tourist attraction. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hats at the Otavalo Market. Sunset on the beach.

Tour de South America: Music Festival
http://tourdesouthamerica.blogspot.com/2010/06/music-festival-ginebra.html
Tour de South America. Sunday, June 6, 2010. A big group from my hostel went out to a small town outside of Cali, Ginebra, for a big music festival. It was a lot of good music, food, markets, and fun! One of the local Colombian beers is called "Poker" and it must have been sponsoring this festival because it was EVERYWHERE. I liked it because they were serving cheap Texas sized draft beers! June 16, 2010 at 11:59 AM. Love the last pic. very cute! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sanctuario de Las Lajas.
