The Adventures of Rodrigus the Frog. 1400km in 15 days on a 70 year old bicycle. Can you imaging cycling 1400 kms in 15 days on a highway on a 70 year old style of bicycle which has no gears and the only way to break is to peddle backwards? Can And not only did he imagine it, he and Cliff are doing this right now! I went with Telana. Early this morning to meet Cliff and Ray in Newtown Johannesburg, and wish them well as they set off to cycle the 1400kms. With the cows too, just more safely!

How Long Until Racing The Planet: Nepal. Countdown to Racing The Planet: Nepal. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Back into the swing of things. Had a good solid week of training under the belt, including a very, very cool night run on Friday night! We started leg two of Hout Bay Trail Challenge at about 5:30 and saw an awesome sunset! Climbing the ravine we had to switch the headlamps on and ran in the dark from the top of the mountain. What an experience! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Racing The Planet: Nepal.

How Long Until Racing The Planet: Nepal. Countdown to Racing The Planet: Nepal. Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Well my first big run since my calf accident also has the distinction of being the last big run before I head out to Nepal next week. Three Peaks is really not for everyone. As I started out at 5:00 on Saturday morning, we had to weave in and out of the 24 hours party people congregating in Long Street, watching all these funny people in lycra and backpacks heading up towards to mountain. I took the...

How Long Until Racing The Planet: Nepal. Countdown to Racing The Planet: Nepal. Sunday, July 31, 2011. Sitting at home now, the day after probably the toughest event of my life. We met at the Yacht Club in Hout Bay on Friday night, just before eight o'clock. The evening was cool-ish, but I think we had all dressed quite warmly and after the send off, the four of us probably got about 3 kilometers before we had to stop and take some of the layers of clothing off. The trip across went by ok-ish, but the ne...

How Long Until Racing The Planet: Nepal. Countdown to Racing The Planet: Nepal. Monday, August 29, 2011. The Monday after Puffer and I feel WRECKED. I think it actually started with a bit of a tummy virus because I felt like crap from the start and the day just got progressively worse! Puffer really is an amazing race, but it's beauty is only matched by the sheer nastiness of the course if you're unprepared or not well. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Racing The Planet: Nepal.
