https://graciouslygiven.wordpress.com/2011/12/17/baptism-boating-fishing-and-family
Life with a 4-year-old. Baptism, Boating, Fishing, and Family. At the end of August, we took a trip to St. Louis to visit the family and attend our new niece’s baptism. We arrived late at night on Thursday, just in time for bed. Friday, August 19, we got started on the fun! On Saturday we drove to John’s parents house and met Baby Heidi for the first time. What a beautiful child! After lunch, we loaded up and headed down to the river for a day trip. Boating, knee boarding, tubing, and family fun! Sunday ...

Summer Summary | Graciously Given
https://graciouslygiven.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/summer-summary
Life with a 4-year-old. What else did we do all summer? Here’s a quick glimpse:. Gabriel played t-ball this year. The team was a huge disappointment, but he learned a lot playing at home. He has a great throwing arm and can hit the ball easily, but he still struggles with catching. And sometimes he has trouble just paying attention, as evidence by the photo below. We took several trips to the zoo and the science center as always. Below, Gabriel is riding the Sky Safari at the zoo. And of course we played...

House of Carrell: June 2010
http://houseofcarrell.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. 2010: My Summer of Books-no problem! Three weeks in and eight books down. Only 12 weeks and 30 books left. No problem! Denise Swanson's excellent page turner "Murder of a Royal Pain" was book #6, and it's one of at least twelve in Swanson's Scumble River Mystery Series. This book follows small-town school psychologist Skye Denison. One night, she discovers the body of Annette Paine, a pushy mom with no shortage of enemies. What's my verdict on this one? Alexis has enough drama i...

Fun with Fermentation | Graciously Given
https://graciouslygiven.wordpress.com/2010/09/14/fun-with-fermentation
Life with a 4-year-old. Today Gabriel and I went to the second meeting of the “Culture Club” where the kids play together while the moms make lacto-fermented veggies*. Fun for the whole family! And I mixed up 2 1/2 quarts of veggies, so we’ll see how they turn out. Below is the traditional sauerkraut and a sweet kraut (the pretty purple one). Sweet Kraut and Traditional Sauerkraut. Better late than never, right? Sep 16, 2010. Don’t let me forget to try some this weekend. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Build...

Farms and Festivals | Graciously Given
https://graciouslygiven.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/farms-and-festivals
Life with a 4-year-old. What did we spend our summer doing? Well, obviously we (okay, I) didn’t update the blog! We were busy with many field trips. Besides at least one trip to the farm where we get our CSA. And several trips to the farm down the street to work at the farmer’s market and check out the goats, we also visited a few other farms. Yummy Raw Ice Cream. Gabriel had more fun playing with the kids in the yard than listening to the explanation, but that’s to be expected. We also spent our summer ...
