http://rayscally.blogspot.com/2014/09/birding-frontiers-autumn.html

Monday, 15 September 2014. BIRDING FRONTIERS - Autumn. The last 6 months have been very hectic being the sole illustrator for Martin Garners Birding Frontiers - Autumn book, it has also been very satisfying and it was this sort of project which I was waiting for a long time! The book turned out to be the best selling book at the Rutland Bird Fair with great reviews and the success means the other seasons and family groups will be produced in the future, projects I am relishing! I've just finished a lot of coloured artwork for the Spurn and Yorkshire Bird Reports and amanged to find a spare hour on Saturday to sketch out the kitchen window, the feeders are currently very busy with Lesser Redpoll, Chaffinch, Bullfinch, most of the tits and Blackbirds. The Blackbirds and Chaffinchs were confiding and I've attached some sketchs done within the hour of watching. Wednesday, 2 January 2013. The last couple of months have been basically taken up by the.

http://rayscally.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Monday, 22 September 2014. Had a great trip to Burton Mere Wetlands RSPB last week, some great birds including Red-necked Phalarope, Cattle Egret, Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper amongst many others. I 've started to sketch on single sheets of watercolour paper instead of a notebook, its far easier to move the sheet around and no centre seam! The study below was the juv Red-necked Phalarope, not seen one for some years! Monday, 15 September 2014. BIRDING FRONTIERS - Autumn. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

This part of NSW is characterised by endless vistas of eucalyptus trees and yellowed grass, much. Like the western part of Victoria. It's not the most picturesque of landscapes, but there are some. Interesting views. Of course, like in almost all of NSW, the most alluring views are not easily visible. What I did manage to capture for you. 8 This enigmatic ...

The World Through My Lens. Knapsack Viaduct – Part 2. On November 14, 2016. A few more images from our visit to the Knapsack Viaduct, this time of bits and bobs that caught my eye along the walk to the actual bridge and down to the stream bed. Lichen on a casuarina tree trunk. No, a beautiful little wild flower. Scottish thistle – a long way from home. Black-eyed Susan, just like I had in my garden back in Somerset West, South Africa. Looks like a wax model, doesn’t it? A bracken frond about to unfurl.
