Honda RC31 (Bros) Site. It needed a new seat covering, which I made myself with some upholstery vinyl from a local store. I can now use either the Kerker, which sounds great or the original (for the purposes of an MOT). Oh yes, the 'camchain rattle' had disappeared now that the pipes were correctly sealed and securely tightened to the engine! After a few evenings and a couple of weekends work it looked like this. CBR900 shock mod

Honda RC31 (Bros) Site. CBR rear shock modification:- See here. For shock conversion. See here. For easy shock removal/replacement. I acquired a 1999 CBR900 rear shock, which is just about the same length as a Bros rear shock. Only the top eye needs modification to make it fit. 1 The eye needs machining down to approx 24mm and the central sleeve inside the eye needs to be machined to approx 25mm (check your existing rear shock top eye dimensions first). Honda RC31 (Bros) Site. If you are going to convert a CBR900 (Fireblade) rear shock either let your local dealer remove and replace the spring or make a jig similar to the one I made. A word of warning :-. I started my jig with 10mm studding and the compressed spring tension exerted very nearly snapped the studding. The Mk2 version now has 12mm studding and even that groaned a bit. Parts req'd for a jig:-. 1off 50mm x 50mm box section approx 300mm long. 2off lengths of 12mm studding approx 300mm long.

Honda RC31 (Bros) Site. I plan to modify my Bros over the winter of 2002 to provide:-. CBR600 front end (forks and wheel/disks/calipers). VFR750 single sided rear end complete. I know it looks terrible but look here. I rebuilt the front forks with new bushes, seals etc. They are now ready to fit. I reckon you would only need the VFR wheel and centre spindle providing. The VFR spindle sticks out more than I like, just too many spacers/washers and looks like this. The VFR hub assembly. The Bros hub assembly.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Well I haven't posted in a while, which is what I say on most of my blogs, but it seems that Mr. Durbahn has finally released his monocoque seat/fuel tank for the Hawk! Funny I checked today, since it was just posted on his site last month. Maybe I will finally start working on the bike now? Check out the seat/fuel tank here! Tuesday, June 19, 2007. This past Friday I picked up this really nice 1989 Honda Hawk GT from a guy selling it on Craigslist. Wednesday, May 16, 2007.
