Build it right so you can be fast. Laquo; Diff Building Tip. CVD – Wrong Size Hole in Part. One of the CVD axels that came with my kit has the wrong size hole drilled into it. I am stopping my build to contact Associated about it. Here are some pictures. The hole is supposed to be about 7.5mm and the hole in the bad part is only 6.5mm. UPDATE: (December 14, 2010) AE told me that they are sending me a new part and a return envelope for the bad part. Feed Both comments and pings are currently closed.

Build it right so you can be fast. A lot of people race their cars without doing any special prep work to the carbon fiber chassis. You can do the same if you are in a hurry, but I encourage you to spend some time on the chassis. The first step is to gently sand the edges of the carbon fiber parts using 800 grit sand paper. Build it right so you can be fast. Laquo; Bearings in Spur Gear Assembly. Hubs – Free up the bearings. Diffs – Free up the bearings. The plastic diff bearing holders are sized too small. The diff bearings are 15mm bearings. The holes in the plastic are only 14.96mm. This means the bearings will fit in the holes very tightly, and the fit will be so tight that the bearings will be somewhat crushed by the holders. For this example, I chose to use a 15mm reamer tool that I ordered through a local tool store.
