Always wear your Transport Canada Approved Life Jacket or Personal Flotation Device(PFD). Follow the Safe Boating Guide Equipment guidelines for your length of boat. Subscribe to our mailing list. We respond to Marine Emergencies whenever called upon, 24/7 and 365 days a year. We train our recruits and crew in all aspects of safe boating and SAR procedures, as well we encourage crew members to attend specialized off-island training. Our crews train weekly throughout the year, focusing on personal safety and crew safety. We maintain our vessel in top mission ready state at all times. We provide boat safety and marine rescue training to staff at local marinas.

Subscribe to our mailing list. Recruits are provided with extensive on-water and classroom training, following the RCM-SAR crew manual and on-line resources. The Station provides all essential safety equipments. Recuits are paired with and experienced crew member who will act as a mentor during the training and orientation period. Recruits must be 19 years or over. Join the Salish Sea Marine Rescue Society. We support the work of station 20 through fundraising and participation in community events.

We are trained in Navigation, Marine First Aid, Maritime Radio Operations, Heavy Weather Boat Handling and Boating Safety. We work in conjunction with Coast Guard, RCMP, BC Ambulance and Pender Island Fire and Rescue Service.
