Feeding the Chaos: Coke Cake
http://rcpmomfeeds.blogspot.com/2013/08/coke-cake.html
Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. I asked her and Daddy to make me a copy. It's the only recipe of hers I have. Yesterday I stocked up on the kind of weird ingredients and I made the cakes today. Here you go:. 1 cup shortening (I love the Crisco baking sticks because they are so easy to measure out). 2 tbsp cocoa powder. 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows. 1 tsp baking soda. Mix together the flour and sugar in a large bowl. Once it boils, remove from heat and stir in the marshmallows.

Feeding the Chaos: Alfredo Sauce #2
http://rcpmomfeeds.blogspot.com/2013/08/alfredo-sauce-2.html
Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. Well, I don't know why I didn't just go with this one to begin with. Pioneer Woman is pretty much a go-to site around here. In any case, I finally tried another Alfredo sauce recipe last night and it was straight off the PW website. Pretty tasty, even though it completely lacks garlic! 1 pound fettuccine noodles. 1 cup heavy cream. Salt and pepper to taste. 2 cups grated Parmesan cheese. Alrighty then, you are ready to proceed! Give it a toss.

http://rcpmomfeeds.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. Menu 3/31 - 4/6/2014. Did you know I was still alive? Did you know I still cook almost every night? Well, I am and I do. I know this sounds like a broken record, but I am really trying to get back to blogging, at least here on the food site. I have some new recipes I have tried and want to put up. I just need to make it a priority. Something I do for me! Because I really like it. In any case, here is what we are eating this week! Don't forget ...

Feeding the Chaos: PW's Penne a la Betsy
http://rcpmomfeeds.blogspot.com/2013/07/pws-penne-la-betsy.html
Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. PW's Penne a la Betsy. Yep, I am still alive and I even manage to cook once in a while! This is one I have been wanting to make ever since I first read the recipe in The Pioneer Woman Cooks. But I put it off for whatever reason. Then, on her Food Network show recently, she cooked it in 20 minutes! I am totally down for something that fast and delicious. So I bought some shrimp and gave it a whirl :). 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined. Heat 1...

Feeding the Chaos: Hoppin' John
http://rcpmomfeeds.blogspot.com/2010/07/hoppin-john.html
Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. This is one of the things I can remember eating as a kid, especially on New Year's when black-eyed peas are considered lucky. I struggled for the first few years of our marriage to make black-eyed peas with abysmal results. Then I found Ranch Style Brands Black-Eyed Peas. We have eaten Ranch Style Beans my whole life too but the black-eyed peas they can are fabulous! 2 Tbsp olive oil. 1/2 cup chopped onion. 1/2 cup chopped celery. Bring to a b...

Feeding the Chaos: April 2013
http://rcpmomfeeds.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. Menu Monday 4/29 - 5/5/2013. Still no luck on challenge recipes! I guess with Jayme gone, I just don't feel like making anything new that the kids may not like. I need to just sit and find a big list of things to try instead of looking for something each week as I make the menu. I get too distracted! Last week I did pretty good though. I cooked every night! Tuesday- Chicken Ranch Tacos. Thursday- I made Marinara. Sunday- Shredded Pork Wraps.

Since we can't really live on hot dogs and goldfish crackers. Olive Garden Chicken and Gnocchi Soup (copycat). I have only tried one. But it was so darn good, I just stuck with it. It's pretty easy too, once you chop/grate/julienne everything. 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter. 3/4 cup celery, chopped fine. 3/4 cup onion, chopped fine. 1/2 cup carrot, grated very fine and chopped. 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, minced. 1/3 cup all-purpose flour (not pictured). 3/4 cup heavy cream. Black pepper and salt to taste.
