Day two was mostly hiking around the komodo national park, but we did get in one snorkeling spot. and it was an interesting one. the water wasn't as clear as some spots we went to, but we saw some interesting creatures and some good coral. Things that grow out of the soil. Monday, July 27, 2015. Komodo Trip- Day 2. Early morning on day two in the boat. the sun rise was lovely. The moon was still out. As always in indonesia, the sun was up early. these shots are taken a little before 6am. We headed off to the main komodo national park entrance on rinca island. Some other folks were headed there too. Our boat docked. we were surprised to see there were crocodiles in the water here. We saw some deer upon entering the park. A map of the park.

Things that grow out of the soil. Sunday, May 31, 2015. To Semarang and Back. We left Solo at 5am to get to Semarang by 8am for a 9am presentation. We stopped at a gas station along the way that seemed like it placed a high priority on animal husbandry. I was so glad we stopped too. The only gas station I've been to that was more dedicated animals on display is a gas station in Utah that we've sometimes needed to stop at, going south, that keeps a petting zoo. Things that grow out of the soil. Monday, July 27, 2015. Ferry/Bus Trip- Day 1. Early monday morning, we woke up and checked out of our hotel. we got down to the harbor with plenty of time to board the first leg of our ferry-boat trip. it felt adventurous and exciting to board the big ferry! We found some good seats near the windows. It also made for a good sleeping spot. People putting some extra cargo on the ferry. i'm not sure why they chose to load it this way. The view from the windows were great.

First, we went to the famous pantai merah (pink beach) on komodo island. Pink beach was nice, and although it's very popular, wasn't crowded either.although arriving at about 6:30am does help. Sunday morning we woke up and made our way into town to try to go church. there isn't a ward or branch in labuan bajo, but we thought we'd go to catholic service. unfortunately, we missed the service (we got there right as it ended). so we ended up walking around town and figuring out the next step in our vacation adventure.
