Anniversary of the arrival of the first passenger train from the east on what was in 1914 the newly constructed Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. The first passenger train to travel through the Skeena Valley came in early April 1914 and arrived in Prince Rupert on April 9, 1914. The line, however, did not actually come into full commercial operation until August of 1914.
