A Notebook Devoted to Re-Enchantment. 過去我曾經天真地認為，大多數「嚴肅」的創作者都可能娓娓道出自己最初嘗試創作的「感動」歷程，直到我開始從事教學工作，才發現實際上有許多投入創作的情形是不具有感動特質的。在國內的音樂班文化中，流傳著一種以作曲做為填補考試項目的默契，例如一位主修鋼琴的學生，由於主修項目競爭過於激烈，在自認不具備競爭優勢的狀況下，可能改以作曲當做主修來換取更高的考取率；另一種曾經發生在非音樂班情形更為匪夷所思，由於主修作曲的人口向來不多，因此分組招生的學校常有缺額未錄取的情形，某些家長眼看自己的孩子在學科上的表現難以考取一般大學，便在考前數月為其安排補習，希望能爭取到這些空缺的名額。雖然這些是實際發生在教學生涯中的例子，不過由於無法找到相關新聞報導加以佐證，便決定將其刪除。然而此種考試文化下的產物，大概與肩負重現藝術奇魅光芒的創作無緣吧。既然這些人實在不算是主修作曲的族類，我想我也就不多說了。 Jonathan CHANG, Chun-yien 張俊彥.
