Currents are constant energy. Gigantic amounts of energy are transported by ocean currents, mainly in the form of kinetic and thermal energy. Ocean currents usually are rather slow and can’t be dammed up — as e.g. in the case of rivers. However, large amounts of energy can be extracted if appropriate system technology is applied. Reac uses currents to produce energy. REAC Energy GmbH has developed appropiate system technology. The key components are modular units called StreamCube.
