A Gentleman's Yacht: March 2015
http://www.agentlemansyacht.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Saturday, 21 March 2015. That took the edge off a little. You know when you're so far down a hole you dont know whether to stop digging or carry on and hope an exit makes itself clear to you well i've been in that situation for more years than i care to remember. Its that inevitable feeling you are actually watching your life fly past you as you stand at your workbench in a boiling hot shed asking yourself wtf am i doing this for anymore. It was only when i stood...

Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Sunday, 26 October 2014. Totally forgot to post my day out i had a couple of weeks ago helping a couple of mates pull their Centaurs from the river in Chirstchurch. Hence the piccy above of Tony's boat and Zafira pulling John's custom-made trailer, be it not very far - just to the other side of the car park. Gonna finish it off this afternoon (sunday) fill the screw heads on the inner front panel as i'll paint that white, also after much measuring concluded i'd h...

A Gentleman's Yacht: May 2015
http://www.agentlemansyacht.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Monday, 18 May 2015. Not really boats though is it Rog? True, but i'm trying out different ideas on the van that are directly applicable to the boat such as fitting led lights which took a great deal of head scratching. Mainly due to the fact i know nothing of the voodoo that is electricity, still like alot of things in my world i got there in the end. Still the rest of the van looks pretty usuable. Sunday, 3 May 2015. Having changed the blogs title to, "A Gentle...

A Gentleman's Yacht: July 2014
http://www.agentlemansyacht.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Saturday, 26 July 2014. Since the voices in my head have got louder regarding the boats weight, i have decided to go the foam composite route for the rest of the interior via the excellent firm Marineware. And their line of PVC products from Gurit. You may remember I used them to make the keel webs as well as their Saba 750XL sealant. My worries are based on the materials (epoxy and cloth) used and at present i've calculated the boat weighs somehere around the 28...

A Gentleman's Yacht: Thought i could smell burning?
http://www.agentlemansyacht.com/2015/04/thought-i-could-smell-burning.html
Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Friday, 10 April 2015. Thought i could smell burning? Was thinking about the various work opportunities that are making themselves available and yet seemingly not so as some are far from where i live. It was after nearly overdosing on easter eggs late Sunday evening i had an idea, why not make the van suitible to sleep in, i'm not talking campervan quality but maybe insulated and some power in the back to charge a phone and make a cuppa. Still, the thought of pay...

A Gentleman's Yacht: February 2015
http://www.agentlemansyacht.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Friday, 27 February 2015. Oh God. I just want to go to Swindon! Been travelodging recently, and seeing the rows of Merc's and Bimmer's in the car park full of shirts hung up in the back reminded me of the brilliant 'Comic Strip Presents' episode - Four men in a Car. For the first week of work and wow! Its more for the safety and survival of the people around me that I can't freely purchase a hand gun here in the UK. So for now my routine consists of getting out t...

Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Sunday, 3 May 2015. Having changed the blogs title to, "A Gentleman's Folly - A multi-year savings reduction plan." I thought it an accurately witty title of what the projects become, only thing was a few of you (very kindly) emailed me asking if i was okay. It was just as i was getting miserable that the call came in to go work on some boats so as the saying goes one door shuts another opens, admittedly the jobs not permanent, but is any job really these days?

A Gentleman's Yacht: April 2015
http://www.agentlemansyacht.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Sunday, 26 April 2015. Still waiting for word on work but in the meantime got an interesting call Wednesday from a fellow wood butcher and good mate Lakey as to how busy i was. Having told him i was mid conversion on the van, he asked do i fancy working on a classic yacht? Without sounding too cheesy its nice working with hand tools too, shaping and profiling various bits and pieces to attach to the boat, yeasterday i got to cut and shape some timber to plug a co...
