He Doesn’t Realize How Great He Is | Whippy's Words Of Wisdom
https://bootothepoo.wordpress.com/2013/10/09/he-doesnt-realize-how-great-he-is
Whippy's Words Of Wisdom. All about our farming life. He Doesn’t Realize How Great He Is. Last week, my husband exclaimed how lucky we were to finish combining our durum before the first freeze. He repeated it and I just smiled at him. This week, he’s saying we’re lucky to finish our canola before another rain and freezing temps. It’s been blood, sweat, my tears, and setbacks this year but we made it through once again. And with that, the 2013 harvest is finally done. Hallelujah! Next post →. May 11, 2014.

Mommy Cheats | Whippy's Words Of Wisdom
https://bootothepoo.wordpress.com/2013/10/04/mommy-cheats
Whippy's Words Of Wisdom. All about our farming life. It’s hard. Being a Mommy, wife, and a farm helper. Sometimes it’s easier to skip the bath and put the kids to bed dirty. Sometimes it’s easier to let my 4 year old nap in my bed with me. Sometimes it’s easier to let the dishes pile up. Sometimes it’s easier to give my 2 year old the iPad so I can do a chore in peace. Sometimes it’s easier to pick up a pizza in town and take it to the field. I'm 30 years old and feeling restless. Next post →. You are c...

Sometimes It’s Not Fair | Whippy's Words Of Wisdom
https://bootothepoo.wordpress.com/2014/05/11/sometimes-its-not-fair
Whippy's Words Of Wisdom. All about our farming life. Sometimes It’s Not Fair. Most days I am incredibly grateful to live here and enjoy all the natural beauty of our land. But the sadness and anger creep up sometimes. The odd day I dream of 9-5 jobs and easy things like delivery food. But that’s just not who my husband is and I don’t think that’s who I am anymore. I know I wouldn’t get to see this living in a city. I'm 30 years old and feeling restless. View all posts by whip25 →. Next post →. Isn’...

A Pocket of Rocks: SAY CHEESE!
http://pocketofrocks.blogspot.com/2012/01/say-cheese.html
A Pocket of Rocks. Before I begin, let me start by saying I'm not a professional photographer, nor a photography teacher. Now that that's out of the way, I thought I'd share a bit about my hobby. I've had a ton of people ask about equipment and classes and books and any other helpful advise I could give on how to shoot a good photo. Let me share a story that's been popping around the internet. It goes something like this:. After a year of learning with the sx20is, I bought the real deal, a Canon Rebel T1...

The Price of Autumn | Daddy's Timeout
https://daddystimeout.wordpress.com/2013/11/24/the-price-of-autumn
The Price of Autumn. Posted by Julio Ibanez. November 24, 2013. Despite (or maybe due to) spending a childhood without it, autumn quickly became my favorite season when I moved north. The cooling weather and the inherent drama in the sky as warm and cold air collide. The way the forest lights on fire and even the daylight turns golden. Not to mention the arrival of apple cider and the addition of pumpkin to all things. While fall is full of charms, I’ve come to realize that it comes with a cost. Enter yo...

BOOK JOURNAL: Mark Helprin’s “Winter’s Tale” | Daddy's Timeout

BOOK JOURNAL: Mark Helprin’s “Winter’s Tale”. Posted by Julio Ibanez. April 5, 2013. 8220;As I understand it, miracles come to those who risk defeat in seeking them. They come to those who have exhausted themselves completely in a struggle to accomplish the impossible…”. Further endearing me to this work, I recognize a few strands of inspiration running through one of my favorite movies, “The Fisher King,” from the mix of mysticism and modernism to the exploration of undiscovered NYC to even ...In the en...
