Tag Archives: cece bell. Posted in Book lists. The most popular series in my school library was. Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The copies would come back tattered, stained and well loved. They passed from hand to hand before I had time to check them in and out again. Many parents asked me to recommend a similar series so they could get their kids to read something anything! There are the three elements in the Wimpy Kid books that I believe make them so popular:. Realistic (usually cringe-worthy) life events.

The Reader-Rater
Reading the Modern Library. The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. I have taken Sarah Grimkes motto for my own:. If you must err, do so on the side of audacity. There is much here to compare to Kathryn Stocktons. As Handful yearns for freedom, Sarah finds that she cannot fulfil the promise she made without direct and dangerous involvement. Read Angelina Grimkes An Appeal to the Christian Women of the South at University of Virginia. Mar 29, 2014 2:13:57 PM. Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson. But the...

Gregory Benford and Larry Niven – Collaboration. July 27, 2015 12:54 pm. Gregory Benford and Larry Niven are my top writers and when I saw them collaborating I was thrilled. These 2 novels do not disappoint. The characters and story are rich and ask so many questions. As in the summaries provided – they bring very interesting ideas to the genre as Nivens’s many books on Ringworlds and similar stories by Clark’s Rama bring us questions and answers about alien encounters. The Mote In God’s Eye in 1974.
