Reflections from Ruth

Thursday, May 20, 2010. Grieving the loss of a sister. Is not easy for Lennie as she and her sister were so close, shared a room, and made up stories about their mom who abandoned them when they were little. The Sky is Everywhere. An oldie but goodie! Wish You Were Dead- have you ever thought this? Be careful what you wish for! In this novel Todd Strasser (who is coming to our TeenLitFest on January 29, 2011) delves into the world of blogging and bullying when a teen blogger makes comments about people s...

Reflections from Ruth: April 2010

http://readerruthblog.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. TAKS testing gave me a great chance. To read an awesome new book titled You. Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey. Oh, my goodness! Read this one at your own risk, ladies and gents! I finished it, and was glad I did, but getting to the end of the novel made my stomach hurt more than once. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Reflections from Ruth: August 2008

http://readerruthblog.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 23, 2008. I have an assignment from our high school administrators. I am supposed to create and post on the door the following statement, followed by my own thoughts:. When I googled this statement, I found a great writing curriculum based on these two words for high schoolers, which I am going to share with our English department on Monday! I want this statement to reflect. And to be something. Not to mention the students who will walk into those library doors and see what I have posted.

Reflections from Ruth: An oldie but goodie!

http://readerruthblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/oldie-but-goodie.html

Thursday, May 20, 2010. An oldie but goodie! By Melina Marchetta has been sitting on my bookshelf for a long time and I finally decided to pick it up. Now I am sorry I waited so long. If you like fast, light reads, this isn't the book for you. If you are thoughtful and willing to have a story move slowly like a snail-paced river, then go for it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
