Friday, May 22, 2015. Post #1 after mission. It has been a little over 18 months since I've been on this, but it was a good time. Through out those eighteen months, I got to serve in four congregations, which were in Hopkins, Conway, Cheraw, and Seneca. I met so many wonderful people there, and learned a lot from them as well. I loved giving my time and talents to them, and seeing the miracles that they allowed to happen. See ya next time! Tuesday, July 30, 2013. The Final Stretch of Summer. Last day of ...

I recently returned home from a volunteer, full time, LDS mission in South Carolina, and currently I'm still figuring out what comes next. My goal is to graduate from college with a degree in Music Education, and we'll see how that goes, and what happens in between. Life is good though :) I love it. View my complete profile.

Reading It Daily

When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests. He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees. Deut. 18:18-20. 1 Name something that was familiar to you but was "heard" in a new way today. 2 Name something from today's reading that you did not know before today. Based on storie...

Book Reviews

Friday, March 21, 2014. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, by Susanna Clarke. Susanna Clarke is a master of phrasing and evokes mood and emotion with the best writers Ive ever read. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is a word-lovers paradise and would be perfect for Anglophiles looking for an alt-history period piece rich with description and fascinating personalities. Having said that, there are two things that may prevent some readers from enjoying this book as much as others. Links to this post. When a n...

In the middle of it now

In the middle of it now. Books and thoughts on and around them. And some other things. By a Marxist-Leninist-Troskyist Mom. Wednesday, January 02, 2013. Filmed as a prequel to the Lord of the Rings series, this first part of The Hobbit covers approximately half of the book as written by J.R.R.Tolkein. It begins with an aged Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holm), Hobbit, writing out his tale for Frodo in the idyllic shire of Bag End. This past summer, for example. Indeed, quite a bit about the film is familiar. Reading Jane Austen | A twenty-something-year-old male grinds through Austen’s novels

A twenty-something-year-old male grinds through Austen’s novels. Posted May 23, 2009 by Joseph Woodard. I am on a temporary break (as I’m sure you’ve noticed), after which I intend to redo my schedule and continue with Northanger Abbey. My Jane Austen journey isn’t over (5 more books to go), but I have taken some time off due to my busy schedule at work and through my other interests; I apologize for the after-the-fact de facto announcement. I can’t wait until. Northanger Abbey 3-4: The Lower Rooms.

Finding God in the obvious and hidden places. March 8, 2014. I’d never met Gina until last night, but she hugged me and asked if she could be my friend. I hugged her back and in that embrace, I welcomed Lent. Lord, make me eager to share the wounds of others, to carry their pain close to my heart, so that together we can see you, our Savior, who bears away the sin of the world in an endless embrace of love. Jesse

Monday, November 26, 2007. The story continues though Jesse's first semester at the community college. The year continues when an unexpected romance occurs and a surprising ending that leaves Jesse living by himself. Can Jesse afford everything and handle living by himself without Abel?
