Making Peace with My To-Do List | Read Out Loud
https://readoutloud.wordpress.com/2011/01/05/making-peace-with-my-to-do-list
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Outing my husband and his mini-van hang-up. The Curse of the Good Girl. Making Peace with My To-Do List. Me and my to do list parted ways about a year ago. It was never just one list. It was lots of very long lists. Work lists, family lists, school lists, holiday lists. On the weekends, my husband and I would make a mammoth mutual list of to dos that would live on our kitchen counter from Friday eve to Monday morn. That was about a year ago. When the holidays...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Favorite Animal Reads for Littles. November 7, 2010. Since the moment my kid showed an interest in anything, it’s been all animals, all the time. The majority of our library is composed of animal stories, so to whittle it down to just five faves is tough. This is likely to be the first in a series of mama loves animal books starting with stories that appeal to the pre-K crowd and moving my way through the age groups. My Very Own Name. So this is a winner in our house.
Looking Back | Read Out Loud
https://readoutloud.wordpress.com/2011/04/11/looking-back
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Bucket List Deadline: June 2019. Today I played hooky. No, I didn’t get a pedicure. I surprised my 94 year-old Grandmother with an impromptu visit in the middle of the day. When I arrived, she had just finished her chair exercise class and was in the dining room at a table by herself. It always makes me a little sad when I find her sitting by herself for meals. That said it’s never for very long. However, today, I was relieved that I didn’t have to share her.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Making Peace with My To-Do List. Teen speak: Gag me with a spoon! The Curse of the Good Girl. Every once in a while, I have an experience that changes me as a person as a parent as a woman. Most recently, it was reading the book, The Curse of the Good Girl. I was and to some extent, still am – that good girl. Quiet. Polite. Demure. My daughter, on the other hand, is none of those things. She’ll outgrow, yes? From communication to crying to criticism and owning up...

Images have been altered to protect the innocent - or those embarrassed easily.). My husband hates our mini-van. I’m pretty certain that he’ll only drive it if the kids and I are visibly riding in said car. Consider the consequences of driving the mini-van without the kids? About once a month, my hubby asks the same question: Do you think we’re done with the minivan?

Mama Manifesto: Turn this MERRY into MIGHTY Christmas
http://www.mamamanifesto.com/2012/12/turn-this-merry-into-mighty-christmas.html
Turn this MERRY into MIGHTY Christmas. It is difficult to escape the heaviness that lingers in the air right now. The tragedy in Connecticut stands in heavy contrast to the "Christmas spirit" that 'tis the season. I have a 6 year old son. I am a teacher. I am entrusted these beautiful children, these souls, to instruct and shepherd as they are in my care. It is unfathomable to ponder a moment like that in my classroom. Innocence shattered. Fear unbridled. Ugliness and evil screaming out. And all the fears.

The Water Habit: Moving Way from Sugary Drinks. Last week, I wrote a post over at Babble where I talked about the fact that my kids exclusively drink water. A lot of people replied, saying that they had difficulty getting their kids interested in drinking water. I thought I would share what has worked for us. Yes But not fruit juice. I did not mean to have that wine glass in the picture, but yes. Technically there is some occasional “fruit juice” in the house, but only for me.). Yes But not fruit juice.

December 10, 2013 · 7:04 pm. Ethical – Am I? I know how easy it is for one to stay well within moral, ethical, and legal bounds through the skillful use of words – and to thereby spin, sidestep, circumvent, or bend a truth completely out of shape. To that extent, we are all liars on numerous occasions. 8211; Sidney Poitier. There is always a question about law and ethics – how are the two different?
