The primary goal of The Friends of Aurora’s After-School Programs is to support parents, teachers, and students to ensure that children can read at grade level by third grade. We provide trained, supervised, one-on-one reading mentors for elementary school children after school and in the summer. Making sure that children can read on grade level by the end of second grade is critical for their future development. Everything depends on it, self-confidence, future careers, and being able to succeed in school. It is such a small thing, but necessary for future success. How much is too much? How much is not enough?
