Picture Book 10 for 10: Poetry Picture Books – Reading to the Core
https://readingtothecore.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/picture-book-10-for-10-poetry-picture-books
Reading to the Core. Just another WordPress.com site. Picture Book 10 for 10: Poetry Picture Books. August 10, 2015. Children’s first reading experiences are usually through picture books, and for this reason, people have fond memories of them and are passionate about their favorites. Because of the role picture books play in introducing the magic of reading to children, they are worth celebrating. Picture Book 10 for 10 is the brainchild of Cathy Mere of Reflect and Refine: Building a Learning Community.

Elementary Reflections: 2015-Looking Forward
http://elementaryreflections.blogspot.com/2015/01/2015-looking-forward.html
Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Thursday, January 1, 2015. I was going to look back at my goals for 2014 to see how I fared, but realized if I have to look back at them to refresh my memory on what they were, I probably didn't fare as well as I would have liked. So rather than looking back, I'm going to look forward. The only reflection I am going to have is that I know I need to do better. Health is always a big thing with me. I did better about getting to the gym last year, despite ...

Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Monday, August 18, 2014. First Day of School. The first day of school. Hard to sleep the night before. I'm awake every few hours. Too many thoughts running through my head:. Do I have everything ready? Are extra materials handy for any possible new students? Is there anything that needs to be copied? Do I have enough planned for the day? What if I oversleep? Go home, get ready for school, kiss my son goodbye. He doesn't start school for another week. Librar...

Reflections from a Middle Grade Literacy Coach. Friday, August 30, 2013. I am very excited that J. Patrick Lewis will be coming to Fundamentals, a local independent bookstore, next Friday! Because of this excitement I will be highlighting a poem from his book Face Bug. Plus, I do love the humorous poetry of J. Patrick Lewis! And the photographs by Siskind are wonderful, if not a little creepy for those of us who are not bug lovers! Front or top view,. Go on, touch him-. Is ask, ". A Year of Reading.

https://themagicofreflection.blogspot.com/2015/08/21-day-gratitude-challenge.html
The Magic of Reflection in Teaching and Learning. Monday, August 10, 2015. I wrote last week about balance, specifically about how we need to make time to stop and see the beautiful things going on around us. Holding myself accountable to that end as the chaos of the beginning of the year surrounds me will be a challenge. So I've decided to take on that challenge - literally.
