We are forever grateful for those sweet interim mommies who watched over her at Enping SWI. They nurtured this little girl for 14 months awaiting the day she would meet her forever family. And she's here! For us, getting the perfect pictures is, well, impossible, we're happy with what we get; there's always a story in our photos. In this picture, Rachel is shouting "cheese!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009. My First "Gotcha" Day! We parked and walked the streets of downtown, which really could have been any major city in the world at that point. The skyscrapers were masked with the low-level clouds. Rachel was in awe staring up at the sky and the buildings that touched it. She and I strolled in the arts district and found ourselves in the Trammel Crow Center with lots of lovely, cold air conditioning! What a fun day! We're so glad Rachel is a part of your family now! 14 May, 2009.

My 10yr old however doesn't, especially if it involves writing! He is too impatient and just wants to get it over and done with as quick as possible so he can get back to more fun things. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it got me to thinking about my own upbringing and what was deemed important and suitable. I started thinking back to when I was growing up and started contemplating if I was doing a good job bringing Deuce up in the same manner. Now Deuce is only 2, so at this age he's easy to please. But what happens as he gets older?
